SEC-S5:W4 – This is how I Prepare for the World Cup.

Hi everyone,
It is a great pleasure to write about this wonderful topic in the last week of the steemit engagement challenge. There is no iota of doubt about this season's engagement challenge when it comes to interesting topics. From week 1 of this season's challenge till this very period, we have been having a variety of interesting contests. I'm so happy to participate in this last contest for this season.

One of the major games that keep the world at a standstill is the world cup competition. This is a competition that is hosted every four years. Players from all over the world whose countries qualify goes back to their countries to join their teams to prepare for the competition. As we all know the next world cup is in less than a month and will be hosted in Qatar.

World cup preparation takes a lot of time since it is a competition that holds every four years. It is the highest game played in the world hence it is very respected by all. We have quite a limited number of countries that usually qualify for the world cup competition every time.

My dear country Nigeria couldn't make it this time around to the world cup and as we all know since it is hosted in a place quite far from my country and my country is not participating all I need to do is to set up my decoders and watch the match live from my home or go to any viewing centre around to join other youths to support our African countries that made it to the world cup competition.

Yes, I have followed other world cups and I have enjoyed every bit of them. I started watching the world cup competition properly in 2006 when the competition was hosted in Germany. Italy was the country that emerges as the winner of the tournament after a strong battle with France.

My favourite world cup competition was the one hosted in South Africa in 2010. My dear country also participated in it but didn't go very far but the joy was that a lot of Nigerians also went to witness the competition live and direct. Spain emerged winners after beating the Netherlands 1 goal to none. What makes this world cup my favourite was that it was hosted in Africa and several interesting songs were released during that period that is still sung to this day. A few of these songs are seen below.

Yes, there are lots of memories from the 2010 world cup competition held in South Africa. The game kickstarted on the 11th day of June 2010 between the host country I.e South Africa and Mexico and the start of the game gave all African hopes as the game ended 1-1.

The very first goal for the world cup tournament came from Tshabalala a South African player which gave Africans more joy and hope that the world cup will be favourable. Though only Ghana as an African country made it to the quarter-finals and they too were kicked out by Uruguay.

In the history of the world cup, there are best and worse moments. We all know that this is the biggest event when it comes to sports and as I have said earlier, preparation for this event starts longer. In my opinion, the best days are the days when the game is starting and the days when the game is ending. Another best day for me is the days when the team I'm supporting wins.

Worst days always come as well and in my case, the worst days for me in this game are the days when my beloved teams are been knocked out. When Ghana was the only team left for Africans, I was not happy when they were knocked out by Uruguay.

The world cup competition is a game that can not be completely predicted as there is a lot of uncertainty associated with the entire game. Since I started watching the world cup, I have seen a lot of people predicting teams that will win but in the end, a very different one will emerge as a winner.

Every four years we witness this world competition and this time my dear country Nigeria didn't make it to the game so my complete support goes to all the African countries that will be representing us all. I'm a very strong fan of football and I can't wait to start watching this year's world cup. I want to invite @steemdoctor1, @badmus-official and @ruthjoe to join the contest.
