STEEMIT ENGAGEMENT CHALLENGE S5W6 - THE PUBLIC ROAD OF MY CITY

Hello to everyone in this community and on the steemit blockchain at large. I welcome you to yet another Sunday here in Nigeria.

Today is indeed the end of the season 5 engagement challenge and this week being the final week of this season's engagement challenge that has been brought forward by the steemit team in respect to improve interaction among users in the platform.

And as such, today, I will be dropping my entry in respect to the engagement contest topic that has been set by this community team for participation which has been titled the public road of your city. So I urge you all to sit tight and relax as I drop my article.

Roads are path ways that leads us to one destination or another. It is a clear path where vehicle and motorcycle move on daily, and also it is a lane that takes everyone to different destination depending on where an individual is heading to.

Abuja is my city and it is the capital of Nigeria, and as such, there are many cities which this it roads lead to.

WHAT ARE THE SURROUNDING CITIES THAT WE CAN REACH THROUGH THIS ROAD?

There are many cities which this public road can lead to, cities like, area 1&2, new caro, kaduna, kano, jos lokoja, kogi, benue gwagwalada, maitama, and katampe. It is a road that has a link to more than 5 different cities. And this cities are very closed by, and are accessible when one uses this road.

People traveling often use this road but those that are going for a journey and those on their way coming back from a journey.

WHAT LOCAL OR IMPORTANT INSTITUTIONS MAKES LIFE THERE?

There are certain important institutions that make life there such as places of worship, both churches and mosques. We equally have schools there, especially the one I work at, it is located at that area too.

Also we have a public medical centre in which everyone is welcome to make use of. Both women who are pregnant can come there for medical check up until their due day of child delivery. In the medical centre, there are many wards there, each has it own specific purposes.

We also have a commercial park where people traveling in and out of the city comes to either drop from the vehicle or book a journey ticket. So these are the major institutions found in that area which make life there.

ANY PRECEDENT THAT HAS BEEN MADE IN THAT ROAD OR AVENUE THAT HAS BEEN OF INTEREST TO THE COMMUNITY?

Yes ofcourse. Just like the road, it has been made in such a way that, drivers are not supposed to park on the road side, there is an available parking space for every vehicle coming to stop.

Also, the issues of hawkers who constantly walk along the road through and fro to sell things has also been banned. This is because, many hawkers died in the past due to unforeseen circumstances.

A vehicle might be coming and unknowingly to the driver that a hawker is coming from the other side. Then eventually, the hawker get knocked down by the vehicle unintentionally.

So because of this constant incident that has been happening, a law was decreed that no one is to be seen hawker along the road else that hawker will be arrested. And to stop that peaceful, a mini market was created for them to stay and sell their goods.

So this approaches has impacted the community positively, and everything is fine today, also everyone is happy.

ROUTINE IN WHICH YOU USUALLY CIRCULATE THIS ROAD?

Certain routine in which I usually circulate this road are as follows, **I often make use of this road to and from the market whenever I want to go get something from the market **. Also, my place of work is along the road and as such, I make use of this road every-day to go to my place of duty.

I also worship at a Church downtown the road. Whenever I want to go to Church, I often make use of the road to and from my place of worship. I actually mentioned medical center which this road as lead to, as such, I make use of this road to visit the medical center whenever I am down or if I have a friend to visit at the medical center.
