SEC-S18-W4: My Selfies and Me

Hi friends, I will be sharing with us some of my selfie images and what they represent. Images are somehow, ways of keeping in touch with memories. Memories ordinarily we won't want to only narrate with word of mouth. They are usually overwhelming evidence of our presence in a given place.

This was one of the weddings I attended lately in my neighborhood. I was actually part of this wedding planning given my role.all through the event. I was saddled with the task of ensuring food and drinks were well coordinated which happens to be the main driver of every wedding gathering of this kind.

The people in the selfie are the groom's sisters. These are people I see as family and little would you know they are family friends and not blood-related. We took every other snapshot for the event but for this contest, this was chosen for it. It was a day to remember given the classic representation of all that was planned on this day.

Each time I scroll passed this selfish image, it captions what I remember. I keep wondering how I was able to handle that long driving task. A lot happened during this period and this was one of the things that helped ease me off the sober moment.

This journey was done during the festive period when I had to go and pick up my wife from the villa after visiting her place and siblings who also came back. So, I drove off from the city to the village for this task but on getting there, we had a different plan entirely.

Thensublings hopped into the car to join us back to the city and it was all fun by the way. On getting back to the city we rested for a while and took off again to another city where we had some enticing meals to make it remarkable.

After the meal, we continued the journey to their city, and at this time that was far from where I stayed. It got me to spend some time in their location before heading down to my base. It was all about journing and it was fun for everyone.

This happens to be the last snapshot I had with my grandma who was just laid to rest a few months ago. I would say she lived the life expected of her having lived over a century on Mother Earth. She was able to carry her great-grandchildren with clear vision and full of strength.

This picture was captured sometime when we went to the village for a traditional wedding of my cousin. Since she was home, we got this selfie done. She was so happy to see most of her grandchildren around for the event.

There are no doubts that images are reminders of memories shared and having an archive for this means having to keep track of events that happened in the past.
