Hello everyone, friends...

It's great that we can meet again. I'll share a story about The Diary Game, I hope my friends like it.

Buying rice to commemorate the Prophet Muhammad's birthday

I was almost confused today, because all the places and houses of people I went to buy free-range chicken that I would use for the menu to celebrate the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday were sold out. Even if there were chickens at places that sell chicken, the price was not the same as on normal days with the size of the chicken.

It's not that I'm stingy, but the price is really skyrocketing. The price can be three times the price of chicken on normal days. I don't know if this is an opportunity taken advantage of by chicken traders considering that almost all people need free-range chicken for the menu to celebrate the Prophet's Birthday.

Actually, it's okay for me to buy beef as a substitute, but my wife doesn't like it because it has been a tradition since long ago that the Prophet's Birthday uses free-range chicken as a menu. Luckily, the neighbor behind the house where I live now is kind enough to sell me 2 free-range chickens at the normal price. But that's not enough because I need 4 free-range chickens. As a replacement, I will buy 2 ducks and 2 broiler chickens for additional after agreeing with my wife.

Before going to the market, my wife gave me a list of things I should buy there. What else I should buy besides the ones mentioned above 👆 are; 1 sack of 15 kilogram rice, 1 kilogram of melinjo crackers, 1 kilogram of medium-sized fresh shrimp, cooking spices for chicken and duck, watermelon, 1 box of mineral water, and fried chicken seasoning for 2 broiler chickens.

Arriving at the market, the atmosphere was really crowded with mothers who wanted to shop for various cooking needs to be used as a menu for the feast to commemorate the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday. After ordering 2 broiler chickens at the usual place and ordering them to be cut according to need, I headed to the chicken and duck sales place. I saw that there were still two large ducks and the prices were relatively cheap. Here I asked for the ducks to be slaughtered and their feathers plucked, basically I received it ready.

Then I went to the spice stall. There were so many mothers waiting in line. It was impossible for me to get close to the women waiting in line, worried that it would be considered harassment if I touched them and I could end up in jail for no reason, I thought it was very embarrassing.

There was a kind middle-aged woman who felt sorry for me who had been waiting in line for a long time. She made room and invited me to enter the spice stall so that I could order the spices I wanted. I thanked the middle-aged woman for her kindness. Here I ordered the spices according to what my wife wrote in her notes.

Then I moved to the spice stall to buy Acehnese melinjo crackers which would be used as crackers to complement the food menu. There were two versions of choices shown to me by the trader, namely thick and thin, but they had the same price per kilogram. I chose the thin one according to the explanation given by the trader because the thick one is usually used by Acehnese noodle traders which is served with pickled shallots and sliced cucumber.

Buying duck and cooking spices

I almost forgot to buy the shrimps my wife ordered. I had to go back into the fish market before buying another watermelon she ordered. Because I was tired from walking around the market, I stopped at a noodle stall selling “caluek” to fill my stomach that was starting to get hungry. On the way home, I bought a 15-kilogram sack of super quality rice so that it tasted good when eaten. And don't forget to buy coffee at my favorite stall because it has a very delicious taste. For my children and wife, I bought them each their favorite CR-Tea fresh iced tea.
