Karachi (Urdupoint News Latest - 15 April 2022) Chairperson of Edhi Foundation Balqis Edhi passed away. According to the details, sad news has come out from Quaid-e-Azam city. Balqis Edhi, a social leader who had been providing social services for decades, died after a short illness. Abdul Sattar Edhi's son Faisal Edhi while confirming the death of his mother said that the funeral prayer will be announced later.
Talking to ARY News, Faisal Edhi said, "Don't be a mother, pray." According to media reports, after the death of Abdul Sattar Edhi, Balqis Edhi had taken over the responsibility of chairperson of Edhi Foundation. Balqis Edhi has been providing social services across the country including Karachi for decades.
It is reported that she had suffered a heart attack two days before the start of Ramadan after which she was undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
She died on Friday after a brief illness. She was reportedly suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes and had been undergoing treatment for the past six months. Bilqis Edhi passed away at the age of 74 on Friday. Expressing deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Balqis Edhi, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the late Abdul Sattar Edhi continued his mission of serving humanity. He paid rich tributes to the services of Balqis Edhi and prayed for the elevation of the late and bestowing patience on the mourners. Meanwhile, other political and social leaders of the country have also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Balqis Edhi.
