London (Urdu Point latest newspaper. April 28, 2022) Ben Stokes of Durham County has been appointed captain of the England men's Test team by the England and Wales Cricket Board. Ben Stokes has become the 81st captain of the England men's Test team after Joe Root. The ECB's interim chair and chief executive officer approved the appointment on Tuesday evening following a recommendation from England men's cricket managing director and former Test cricketer Rob Key.
Commenting on the appointment, England's managing director Rob Key said: "I have no hesitation in offering Ben the role of Test captain. "Ben Stokes reflects the mindset and the vision that we want to take this team to the next level of red ball cricket," he said. I am glad that he has accepted this responsibility and he is ready for additional responsibility and honor. He fully deserves this opportunity.
