In less than two months, Japanese band One Ok Rock will be performing in the Philippines on May 2nd for their Eye of the Storm Asia Tour. However, due to unfortunate circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the increasing number of cases and Enhanced Community Quaratine of Luzon island of the Philippines, it is a no brainer to postpone the tour.
The announcement was posted on their website and official social media accounts yesterday. It was also posted by the band's vocalist on Instagram and the band's leader through his Instagram story. The whole team apologized for the "postponed" shows and wished everyone to be safe amidst the pandemic. They are working hard for the rescheduling of the shows but if they fail, then they have to cancel the tour.
The local concert promoter also posted regarding the show.
Actually, I was already worried seeing them push their Australia tour which only ended two weeks ago or last week. I think they even held a meet and greet. I thought they are invincible but good thing they've decided to postpone their coming shows. I hope all the crew stay healthy, likewise for the fans, so everyone can happily rock out together when the right time comes.
This can be a bad news for One Ok Rock in general, but on the good side, I see this postponement as an opportunity for the band members to rest and relax, out from their hectic and stressful schedules. They've been always on tour giving out their best every performance for their fans so I wish they take this situation to their advantage to rest.
So One Ok Rock has already postponed their shows. I wonder what is Amuse's plan for Babymetal who will also be performing on May? (One Ok Rock is also managed by Amuse talent management, by the way.) Philippines is the only country left on their Asia Tour, others were already postponed. They must be really waiting for Iron Maiden (main act for the music festival) on their decision regarding the matter.
Anyway, another good news! One Ok Rock recently won Artist of The Year & Best Group Artist at the Space Shower Music Awards 2020 in Japan. However, they refused to accept the Artist of The Year award and told having one is enough. Instead, they gave the award to their fans with Taka writing "To Fans" at the trophy. I think the selection of winners was made through voting, so I think the band was right. Their fans deserve the award because it was through their votes why they got that award.
makakapag ipon pa sana kaso ano magagamit padin pera sa pandemic haha iyaaaqqq
