THE PURE HEART

In spiritual terms it means the core or deepest point of your life the part that is hidden. Because it is hidden it can be an ugly place a murky fountain bubbling with bitter and poisonous water.

(Matt. 5:8)

The deeper with delve into it the more decay we discover and this is not true of only the heart that is not born again the rebirth of our sinful heart is not completed all at once. Think of David in Psalm 51. No one would have queried his faith in God. Yet to look how shameful he overstepped the mark of Bathsheba. In his deepest being he was a man after God's own heart yet he was overcome by temptation. Believing heart is by no means a pure for holy heart. David didn't give into self Petty or despair. He took refuge in God. The believing heart perceives its own Impurity, but also knows to pray in EMS of purification expecting complete forgiveness. David confessed that he was a leper before God because of his sin and unworthy to be in God's presence like the lepers who had to live outside the city. David yarned for God to absolve him so that his heart would be pure. We dare not shrug our shoulders and say, "Oh well all people are sinners." This is not about all people but about you personally. It is about your heart. Isn't it time so that you and I also prayed David's prayer?
