Leadership role is very vital. I want to add that as a leader, one need to be a great listener. A leader should create an avenue for considerable rapport with his/her workers or followers. Don't instill fear in others as a leader. It makes people plan against your rule.

The role of leadership entails a lot. Use the law of power wisely. Take charge at the right time. Release control and distribute it at various level that won't be detrimental to your lead, and watch as things goes.
