This is the #100daysofsteem documentary. It all started 3 months ago with little participants, but with a big vision and mission. At first, it was as if nothing good would come out of it as some people projected via their comment in the first #the100daysofsteem. Were they right or wrong? The further story will enlighten us on how everything played out.

The100daysofsteem journey

On the 28th of April 2020, @steemitblog published a post titled #the100daysofsteem. There were 50 comments from several individuals with different views on what would be the end of the journey. It started and kept moving while a lot of people were watching and following every step, some in favor and some against.

The documentary from day 1 to 100

The day 1 of the 100 days of steem was about the steem community hub, that resulted in setting up a discord server where the future of steem would be discussed. The same post highlighted some crucial points that shows that the steemit team cares for humanity. The #100daysofsteem initiatives idea was to help every steemian get through the Covid-19 hardship together as a community.

The day 2 of the 100 days of steem was a bit challenging, as the soft fork 22.8888 caused some uproar within the community. This was what brought about this sentence below

Bumps in the road, but the wheels haven't come off

Yes! There was a bump, but the car never somersaulted. The determination kept them going.

On the 3rd day, the community curation project was launched. Four community curation accounts were set up to reward good contents on the steem blockchain. Several people submitted their application to become a curator for their respective communities. The list will be revealed as we proceed.

The day 4 marks the beginning of the initiative mentioned in the first post of the 100 days of steem. It was an open challenge to write about the memories of my school days. 59 people submitted their entries. So the first number of participants in the #the100daysofsteem was 59.

The view from my window photography challenge was the second contest in the 100 days of steem. Here, there were 74 participants. 15 more people joined the contest. Different pictures were displayed in these contests. We saw the pictures of beautiful flowers, the blue sky with the moon hanging at one side looking at the people as they go up and down in the street, and also the photo of the sun scorching a bard head, et cetera. This photography challenge was on the 5th day of the journey.

On day 6, @appics, an Instagram like app on the steem blockchain received 1 million SP from the steemit, Inc to allow them to create accounts for new users as the embarked on their marketing campaign. If we check APPICS today, it's the best dapp on the steem blockchain at the moment.

Day 7 of the 100 days journey marks the first week count down to 93 days. The @steemcurator01 account was created and charged with 1 million SP. It was set up as the coordinating account for the community curation project to reward the curators, and also vote good contents in the running challenges. Translating the @steemitblog posts into various languages was also initiated, on the dame day.

Day 8 was about the first weekly round up

Day 9; Gaming on steem: A community challenge. It's been all about content creation, but this post was to

Encourag existing Steemians to use the existing games more
Encourag more people from outside Steem to join to play the existing games
Encourag existing developers on Steem to build more games
Encourag developers from outside to come to Steem to develop new games

On day 10, the post released was as a result of the fact that some new comers might get easily confused because of the complexity and technicalities of multiple keys, so a steem monitoring system was set up for anyone interested in mentoring newcomers for 3 months, which reasonably is okay for a newbie to master everything about the steem blockchain.

Day 11; Weekly writing challenge #2. The theme for the challenge was My favorite movie.

@kiwiscanfly suggested in one of his comments that the steemit team s, but should seek ideas from steemian, which they did and got tons of comments from people with different ideas on how to further improve the steem blockchain. This was posted in the 12th day of the #100daysofsteem. @surppassinggoggle made a comprehensive note on this and many other people reacted excellently. Two good heads are better than one.

The 13th day was for the announcement of the top pick for the first photography challenge, and another challenge my favorite possession which was the second photography challenge was announced.

[On day 14, the contest support fund(https://steemit.com/steemit/@steemitblog/100-days-of-steem-day-14-the-contest-support-fund) was announced. refer to the sentences below.

There have been many types of contests on Steem, catering to all interests, and with prizes big and small. We would love to see more contests on Steem, so we have come up with a way to encourage more people to run more contests.
Upvotes were given to the first three top picks in every contest organized by anyone that applied to seek for the contest support fund.

Day 15 of the #the100daysofsteem was the weekly roundup that encapsulates what was done for the week and also a weekly challenge ***.

Day 16 marks the beginning of the diary game but not a daily thing. It was only for people to write about their lives for a day.
Two months after the creation of communities on steem, the community brainstorm was announced in the 17th post of #the100daysofsteem

The sensitive part of the post goes thus;

We want to hear from you...
What new features would you like adding?
What existing features could be improved?
Is the setup procedure too difficult, or even too basic in what options are offered?
Do you find them easy to manage?
Are they confusing to use, or totally straightforward?
Would some form of contextual help system be useful?
Are there any extra features or facilities that would make it easier to promote your communities outside of Steem and to attract new members?
Please give us your ideas, thoughts, and suggestions. Post them in the comments below or better still make a post about them.

The community curator update was announced in the 19 days of the 100 days of steem. There were 49 applicants, all renowned and reputable steemians. Only four were selected from the list. The names would be revealed in another update as you read further.

Day 20 for another weekly photography challenge #3. Click to read more

The 21st day of the 100 days of steem recorded the first community curators on the platform. Out of over 50 steemians that submitted their application, 7 were selected. Before, the plan was to choose only four, but there was a change in the plan because of the caliber of people that submitted their entry. See the lust of the first community curator on steem below.

The nominate a newcomer challenge was the 23rd-day info. This was to locate good writers among the newbies and encourage them to keep creating good contents.

Day 34; The Wednesday challenge about my favorite place to eat. The participants had increased looking at the day 1

Day 35; Delegation to community leaders. There are many communities on the steem blockchain, but very few are actively utilized. The delegation to active community leaders was a good approach that could boost morale and help the community leaders to be more active by organizing stuff that would keep the people engaged.

Day 36; 5 things about my country. As always, this was another challenge for people to write 5 things about their country. Here, many people talked about the good, the bad, and the ugly. We got to know about other peoples culture, way of life, food, tourism, politics, and more. It was a unique challenge.

Day 37; Steem tools. The steemscan.com designed by @futureshock was announced on this day, with the list of other tools that have been existing on the steem blockchain. The first Steem POD members and social promoters are @cmp2020, @cryptokannon, @kiwiscanfly and @mariita52 as Steem Greeters, and @marcosdk as a Social Promoter. They've been doing a great job before some other people joined, and they've all been working together hand in hand.

Day 47; . The witnesses introduced a new hard fork that is designed to enhance steem network stability, and user experience, and also to protect steem stakeholders from malicious attack, plus their properties and right.>One of the main purposes of the hard fork is to reduce the power-down period from 13 weeks to 4 weeks, but it has other important aspects as well. The last call for June community curators was also announced on the same day.

Day 49; The diary game. The daily diary game started on the 49th week of the 100 days of Steem, and that marks the beginning of a massive influx. steemians are to write about their daily activities and win upvotes and prizes. It was a very nice idea. Maximum improvement was recorded with the introduction of the diary game.

Day 50; Friday challenge: President for a day. Every participant wrote what they would do as a day president extensively. It's a very fun read. Some said they would eat and eat. At least the taste of power for a day should reflect after they leave the seat. Many participants gave some cogent and reasonable points too. It's all about how we feel individually.

Day 51; The diary game update #1. While people started joining the diary game, the steemit team made an adjustment on how the game operates to make it as easy as possible for everyone.
