THE DIARY GAME: 2ND OCTOBER, 2020 : MY ACTIVITIES FOR JUMMAH FRIDAYsteemCreated with Sketch.

Today was Friday and just like we do every Friday, we go to the mosque to observe our Jummah salat. With this foreknowledge, I woke up pretty early as usual and said my dawn prayer. I then went to the bathroom and freshened up. I had to press my clothes next before the lights go out again.

These days there are lots of unpredictable power outages happening in the country. As a result one needs to prepare for the worst case scenario at all times and must make the utmost use of electricity when it is available. As soon as I was done, I had my breakfast.

"This Way Chocolate Drink" for breakfast

I took some 'This Way Chocolate Drink' with some bread and fried eggs for breakfast. This is an already made chocolate powder which has dairy content as well as a sweetener as well. There is therefore no need to add extra sugar to it as that could cause adverse health effects. I am quite particular about that which is why I only pour hot water into it. I then prepared myself for the jummah at hand. We normally leave the house at 12 p.m when there is traffic in order to reach around 1 p.m since prayers start at 2 p.m.

Today we set off at 12:30 p.m because we received information that the road was clear. It was from my uncle who happened to use the road in the morning. We therefore took his word for it and left the house at said time. The road was free till we reached Afrancho.

We were stuck in traffic here at Afrancho

That is about fifteen minutes drive away from our house. It wasn't a good sign at all and if we wanted to get any hope of reaching the mosque on time, then we had to improvise. We therefore took took an alternate route around Tafo to get there.

The tap wasn't flowing at the ablution bay here

We got there right on time, right before Jummah prayers started. I had to rush to perform ablution. When I got to the ablution bay, the tap was not flowing (uh oooh). So I did "tayamum" which is sort of ablution without water.

I then rushed to join the queue. The first rakat had already began but I met it have way through which was okay. We did the two rakats and that was it. We then sat and listened to some announcements the Imam had for us and that was it, Jummah had concluded.

We then left the mosque for the house after that. This concludes my diary for today. Thank you for your attention.
