CHARACTERISTICS OF HAPPY COUPLES

There definitely is no perfect relationship as there is no one that is perfect. So two human imperfect people fall in love and they should know that their relationship would never be perfect. But the power of love is a very strong even unstoppable force and you should not underestimate the power of love. Love is the most precious thing we can experience and it can make us feel very happy, energetic and alive.

So although you will not experience perfection in your relationship or marriage, you can always experience happiness and contentment.

According to the dictionary, happiness is the state of

being happy and contentment is a state of happiness and satisfaction.

Characteristics of happy couples:
They are optimistic about the future. They have the assurance that they have that special someone that will travel with them on life's journey. Love can make people feel stronger and more optimistic.

They work together to resolve their problems.
They communicate well and can resolve their arguments and differences by discussing it and to get solutions. They are also willing to compromise.

They make time to relax and have fun.
They schedule date nights, weekend get-a-ways and regular holidays. But they also know how to do something on the spur of the moment and just enjoy being with each other. They are spontaneous and it makes their relationship exciting
and leaves no room for boredom.

They support each other's dreams and goals.
Even if their professional lives are far apart they are still there for each other. They are each other's support, strength and inspiration.

They know what they want and they go for it!
They know each other well and they have a clear vision of what they want to achieve in life. They are really optimistic and ambitious when they want to achieve something. This brings a lot of energy into their relationship and it's a good thing. They celebrate their victories together and acknowledge that they could not have done with without each other.

They allow each other some freedom.
They are not clingy or needy. They can be away from each other and trust each other to take care of her/himself and their relationship.

They don't dwell on not healthy emotions.
Happy couples know that to dwell on unhealthy emotions like insecurity, jealousy, envy, anger, hurt and resentment is a waste of time and energy and only will hurt their relationship. They don't allow for this negativities to affect their relationship.

They know each other inside and out.
They know each other very well, the best parts but also the worst and they accept each other with all their heart. They know each other's strengths and weaknesses and they have learned how to bring out the best qualities in each other.

They have passion and romance but are also best friends!
They can just be themselves with each other. They can be open to each other and share their deepest thoughts and feelings and they do not fear rejection. They have true intimacy not only inside but also outside of the bedroom.
They don't shut other people out.
They allow other people into their lives and in doing so, creating a strong support system. Humans are after all social beings and we need other people in our lives. We need to be exposed to other perspectives and realities in order to expand our own view of things.
Every couple in their relationship will have their own definition of what makes them a happy couple. It takes commitment and maturity to build a happy relationship. If you have most of the characteristics above you know that you are lucky to have each other!
