Having discovered about Steem Cameroon today and going through the wonderful contest that holds in the community, I come across this one and then definitely will be submitting my entry for this one certainly which I will be sharing with us today. Today I will certainly be talking about the "International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief" which always hold on August 22nd every year.

Let me briefly start with the introduction to it. The International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief which is always hold on August 22nd every single year like I said. History made me to understand that the day was first of all established by the United Nations General Assembly and that was really carried out in the year 2019.

According to history, the day was marked to be able to honour in memory those who have lost their life's due to the violence that find it's source in religious differences and bitterness or hatred. The day always served as a reminder for the citizen to promote tolerance and religious freedom irrespective of the differences that might want to exist.

Propose and Draw a Mascot to Represent the Day.

Give a brief description of your mascot

In a day that is really important as this, there is a much of that a mascot passed across as it represents peace, it represents tolerance just like I said and many more. As you can see in the drawing, the mascot represents a fire burning and on the top you can see several types of logo that represent different religions ranging from Christian, Muslim and many more actually.

The different logo was up to represent that no matter the indifference in the religious, we should still tolerate ourselves and be united as one family actually.

What are the changes you think this day has brought to your community.

I will say by the community observing the international day commemorating the victims of acts of violence based on religion or belief I will say has really bring a whole lot of awareness for us to be aware of the religious persecution in a whole lot of community and society which in fact include mine also. Not only that but also it has really helped the leaders and also the organisation to be able to establish dialogue in order to settle disputes and this has helped to promote understanding in the different religious groups.

Not only that, I must say that the changes has really educate a whole lot of community to know the importance of us dwelling together in love and unity and for people to be able to practice their beliefs without no restrictions. I have seen a significant rise in the hosting events, see workshops and even seminars that really discussed the importance of religious tolerance and not only that but also to be able to coexist irrespective of our differences in religion.

Active Promoters and Suggestions for Greater Impact

Well I will say a whole lot of organisations can really help to work in promoting the observance of the day and this can really include religious leaders and not only that but also help to sustain the human rights of the organisations. I must say the United Nations really plays a very important role in helping to make sure the day is observed in the community.

Not only that, I strongly believe that a whole lot of younger generations can really do much more in impacting the day. In fact the day can be incorporated in the universities and even in schools also. The day can be taught in curriculum of different schools and more social media campaigns can really be taken place for this and this is really so important I must strongly confess.

I invite @lovelystar , @newekemini5 and @okere-blessing to drop a very constructive comments on this post and also to participate in this contest.
