Hello, Steem-Cameroon, and everyone in the community! Greetings to you all as well. It's my pleasure to post in this great community. Thank God it is Saturday (TGIS), and I am here to present a post about good food in Nigeria.
What do you know about the day? (Make sure you mention the actual date.) (50–100 wards)
May 27 is usually a day that is designed for Nigerian children to celebrate. Children's Day is always on May 27 of each year, which is a public holiday in Nigeria.
It is a special day that is set aside to honor children in Nigeria, and those in primary and secondary school always participate in different competitions. What I also know about the day is that it is a celebration of the younger generations in Nigeria, which is a means of recognizing and appreciating Nigerian children for being law-abiding citizens.
How do you, your country, or your organization celebrate the day? (50-100 words)
The celebration of Children's Day in Nigeria is celebrated in different ways, ranging from cultural activities, excursions, matching parades, parties, and a lot more.
The majority of the activities on Children's Day celebrations are usually held in well-known places like stadiums, parks, amusement areas, and other well-known places in different towns. Also, government bodies take part in Children's Day, where most of the top government officials make use of the avenues to reach out to children in Nigeria. Also, parents make use of the avenues to celebrate their children's birthdays.
What impact does your community have during and after the commemoration? (50-100 words)
Children's Day celebrations have so many impacts on the lives of children in my community and Nigeria at large. One of the impacts is that it creates relationships among children by making them united as one.
It makes children know their leaders in government, which also brings some of the leaders closer to children whenever it is a Children's Day celebration in Nigeria.
What issue or concern will you recommend be commemorated this week, and on what date?
Well, it has been a long time since we celebrated Children's Day in Nigeria because of the issue of insurgency (insecurity) in the country, which has made children nowadays not enjoy themselves as much as children of the past. To this end, I will like our Nigerian government to ensure that such a beautiful day doesn't die.
