Hello fren I'm back again i hope i wasnt gone for too long? Either ways i always find my way back because i think this is like my therapy 😌 so if i don't commit, i might lose myself in the distraction. Today was a sought of day, we were done with CAs, and according to school policies, we are supposed to start practicals in the Hospitals of our choice but our school Director changed the program. Let me tell you about it..
Our school is a professional school and after a while of theoretical learning, we endulge in internships to learn, sharpen, and improve our skills. This is what always happens. After waking up this morning to the hope of traveling for internships i was struck with an unfortunate news.
How my day went |
---|
Our almighty Director of the school said we should instead engage in practical sessions at the school laboratory. With that said, he sent us our timetable and today was day one. So i had to start today at 7am, making sure i am not late, i had to get ready as early as possible that is do my morning routine and be out of the house before 7am. Unfortunate things dont go as planned i actually finished preparing at 8am and i left the house at 9:30am for the laboratory.
I was early enough to join the cleaning with my classmates, because the lecturer said the first order of business is making sure the laboratory is cleaned up and those who don't participate will not attend the class. We spent almost 2 hours cleaning and once we were done, we had some time to settle and had a very short practical session which was to dilute Sodium Citrate.
Sodium citrate is used as a blood preservative, or an anticoagulant. Now, you might think that it is as easy as said but doing a dilution especially of an anticoagulant is not child's play, you need to measure out the exact amount of the Sodium citrate salt required to the volume of distilled water you want to dilute in, in our case, it was 3.2 grams for 100 milliliters
Before we could come to that point we had to calculate then we weighed the salt and diluted in distilled water then determined the amount to put in every test tube. The reason we are learning this is because though Sodium citrate is already found in blue capped test tubes, it is essential to know how to make it so that if you are in a situation where you run out of blue capped test tubes, you will be able to produce sodium citrate and use in other tubes.
The class was over at 2pm and i ran home to get some lunch and also some rest and then made this set up to display some of these beautiful perfume products which i have, i am still expecting #steemit members to pour in their support especially those from those from #cameroon.
The evening came and i got hungry but there was no food so i rushed out and got bread and prepared myself a dinner of bread with chocolate and tea. This got me so full that i had to save some for tomorrow. So im grateful for the day and i learned that drastic things will always happen no matter how prepared you are. I will say good bye with the hope that we see again very soon.
