PRAYER FOR THIS NATION OF CAMEROON

TEXT: PSALM 33:12
THEME: PRAY FOR THE NATION OF CAMEROON

STOP THE WAR. END THE KILLINGS AND KIDNAPPING. I STAND FOR PEACEFUL DIALOGUE AS THE ONLY REMEDY TO THIS MALADY OF A CONFLICT

GREETINGS MY BRETHREN

Today is National Unity day celebration in Cameroon (20th MAY). A day the Nation celebrates the reunification of it's two English and French speaking territories. It is always symbolized by Match pass, military parade and the award of medals to some meritorious citizens. It's usually a day of massive celebrations and fanfare. But this steam has been watered down and killed by the current ongoing war in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon (North West and South West Regions); since 2016. It is 6 years running and our country is at war against herself.

We are further threatened by the Boko Haram insurgency in the Northern part of our country and other borders as well. Those of us who live and work in the war stricken regions know that it's a nightmare and it's like a man seating on a timed bomb. Life is really abnormal in these two English speaking regions but as soon as you cross the Mungo bridge into the French Speaking region; it seems nothing is happening at all in this country. Everything is going on normal. People are busy about their duties, buying and selling and going to school. Whereas in some areas here in the English speaking regions so many children cannot go to school due to the war. It has even been worsen by the current COVID-19 pandemic crisis. My Niece informed me that only 49 children are allowed to do the Match pass, this is even in areas where security has been tightened very well and infiltration by the gun men is very difficult. My one billion dollars question here is, "How can we celebrate such a symbolic day under such a precarious situation? Is it worth the celebration? I have been pondering about it since five days ago as I hear that most of the towns and villages in the two regions are on a lockdown since Monday. Can we have a true meaningful dialogue to end this deadlock of a crisis? Haven't we had enough blood shed and property destroyed and enough kidnapping of ordinary and state personnel? I hear a state Senator Mundi has been kidnapped weeks ago. When will all these madness of a war and killings end so that our people can return to normalcy? What are our leaders on both ends doing to bring this madness of a war against our own people to an end?

Do you know that people are already fade up? The situation is sickening and worrisome. So many have resigned to faith in God to handle this ugly situation because it seems humanly speaking that all attempts to handle it diplomatically is yielding no fruits.

Today I raise my voice as a Child of God to say "STOP THE KILLINGS AND END THE WAR; PEACEFUL DIALOGUE IS THE BETTER AND ONLY OPTION". My message is for the both sides who have put us into this mess to bring it to an end. As a Servant of Jehovah God Almighty, Please I call on all to spend atleast three hours at least today to raise the Nation of Cameroon to God's altar. Let God hear our prayers once more and give us the kind of peace we need. Ask God to help protect our territory from escalating into the type of thing we see in Afghanistan, Iraq, or Ukraine. The cost of war is always very expensive than the cost of peace. As God's servant, I choose peace, I choose dialogue and I say "No to War".

PRAYER
My God and My King, we lift up our Nation Cameroon into your hands. Six years is too much pain for our people. We are sick and tired of this war. We ask for your intervention. Provoke the international community to respond to this crisis by doing something to bring both parties on a common table for the interest and common good of our Nation. We pray for peaceful dialogue and negotiations. Let this senseless war come to an end, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Please Share let others join in the prayer for our Nation Cameroon
