Compliments of the season to @everyone and welcome to my blog as I present my daily lifestyle content with you all. Guys, it was lockdown in my city imposed by separatists fighters. If you have been following my blog, you would have noticed every Saturdays of the December month were added to our usual Mondays lockdown imposed by separatists fighters. According to them we are paying last respect to their fallen heroes.
The first two weeks of December were tensed with explosives every single day being detonated by the military. Gunshots were normal and even a 1 year old baby is familiar with gun sounds here. We woke up this morning early enough to see if today’s lockdown will actually stand given that it is the last Saturday to Christmas. We had confidence that people will not respect it this Saturday but to our greatest surprise it was not avoided.
It was weekend though, I had no plans and decided to take it as a rest day. I had no major work to-be done for the day and I made a mistake and did not buy food we could eat on this day before I go on Tuesday to buy food against Christmas Day.
I left the house to get a walk along the road if I could get something to cook for our lunch and dinner. While walking along the road, the sun was pretty hot and lots of dust but I put on my face mask and was somehow scared not to be a victim of circumstance.
While walking along the road, I pity businesses that this is the period they would have raise money to pay back loans as the year runs out. Imagine the lost they have incurred during this December month. Some might lost their properties they used as collateral to secure loans.
You could literally see how all shops were shutdown, all offices shutdown because of you operate your shop or offices on lockdown days, you will be targeted by separatist fighters and the worst might happened.
While walking I saw one woman selling boiled corn. I cannot passed boiled corn without buying some. It seems this is the season because I saw many vendors either roasting it or boiled. I bought some of the corn and walked back home. While at home I enjoyed the corn as it was sweet.
After eating the corn, I had to prepare dinner for us which I bought the things at high prices because it was lockdown. I arranged all the ingredients and prepared the meal. It was vegetable soup with garri. It took me less than 1 hour to prepare the meal and served everyone. I ate my own share and also fed my kids to ensure they eat well.
It was weekend with many soccer league matches. Apparently, I had to to follow almost all the games started with Manchester City Vs Aston Villa, Crystal Palace Vs Arsenal, was Brighton Vs Fulham and Barcelona Vs Aletico Madrid. Because
It is my husband’s favourite team and I had to give him moral support but along the way I was so exhausted that I had to take myself to bed, calling it a day. Until my next diary guys, it is goodnight from my end with lots of positivity.
