Winners Announcement of the Contest: Non-Communicable Disease (Mental Health-Depression).

Steem greetings fellow steemitians and hope we are strong and healthy today, and not suffering from any form of mental health disorder. Today I will announce the winners of the contest “Non-Communicable Disease (Mental Health-Depression)”.

The topic was timely as many people around the world are suffering from depression. The rate of people committing suicide as a result of depression is alarming.

Within the African context especially in remote areas, many are ignorant of the illness which is fast killing. In some areas, when someone dies of depression, it is associated with witchcraft due to a lack of information about NCDs.

In most remote areas, there are no facilities to cater for those suffering from depression. This contest was intended to raise awareness for people to live healthy lifestyles and not suffer from depression.

The contest equally required participants to share their experiences and how they managed to get healed and live without suffering from mental health disorders.

The level of participation was encouraging and I hope in the next contest, several entries will be recorded. A total of 11 entries were recorded for this contest.

The rewards to participants were to be distributed to the first, second, and third positions. These were supposed to be the overall winners. The reward was 25 SP, with the first position having 12 SP, the second position 8 SP, and the third position 5 SP.
