Introduction

Life is full of ups and downs because they are times in life that things don't go as we expect but that doesn't means life has ended and we should should quite. Same goes to Steemit, it is a blockchain that offers alot to us but it should be noted that just like any other thing, things will definitely not turn right to us at all times because there will probably be times we will always face difficulties and challenges here. At those trial moments, that shouldn't be the end of Steeming life to us because the best is yet to come when you definitely comes out of those trial moments since you won't necessarily stay at that stagnant point for forever

As a true and dedicated Steemian, power down should never be an option anytime you face challenges because I have seen alot of individual accounts and communities Powerdown at any moment things don't turn out right for them. This act is extremely very terrible and unprofessional. We should atleast appreciate what steemit has done for us and we should always remember that we join this platform empty hands and at a certain moment, we started earning hundred of thousands and even millions. There's no platform that does that other than this steemit platform

So my dear fellow Cameroonian Steemians, power down should never be an option if certain things happen to you here on steemit because it will tell us how ungrateful you are. Powering down can be possible only if you may be having pressing issues that you will need emmidiately intervention and help with STEEM token, however, there could still be other alternatives than powering down.

My fellow Steemians, we all should know that we have come to Steemit to stay and while staying here on steemit, please let's all joint hands and aid in the growth of this platform by always contributing positively to it than contributing negatively most especially in the form of power down.

Juts like I said, this is a social blogging platform that rewards us in the form of crypto when we produce original high quality contents. The most most amazing thing about this platform is that it requires zero charges to sign up. There's no other money making platform that does so. This is why this platform is outstanding and we should always appreciate steemit for this

So my dear people, we should know that we are here to stay forever because steemit has not only made us earn money but it has made us to also build relationships with alot of people of different cultures, traditions and languages which is amazing. So living steemit will definitely means we are also living this amazing family we have found on steemit because steemit is the platform that help us came in contact with this beautiful and loving people

We should also know that life has two parts, the sweet part and the bitter party which is same as steemit. Steemit can't produce you sweet parts forever or bitter parts forever because there are times things will definitely not be right due to one reason or the other. For example, we are in a poxy and duff time in Steemit where the issue of general bearish market in crypto has caused us alot which STEEM is not exempted. This shouldn't discouraged us at all because we won't remain in this condition forever because soon, things will turn around and life will become joyful for us all

For you all who feel you are not fully supported or you have suddenly stop receiving support from steemit, please power down should never be an option as a result of this because you will(may) definitely land your self into more trouble. When such things happen to you, rather look at what is wrong and make sure you follow guidelines by constant visiting comments and updates made by the steemit team itself. They are out to support every true deserving Steemian who work tirelessly in this platform

Like I said, living steemit for good because of certain reasons is never the best option. We should know how our Steemit journey started and how the steemit team supported us along the way, this simply means they appreciate our efforts and rewarded us. We shouldn't take their kind behavior for granted, instead we should live to praise this platform and we should always endeavor to make things the right way by taking right decisions for the betterment of this platform

Why people powering down now?

iMarkup_20220919_081451.jpg

We have seen people recently power down their accounts as well as community accounts. It's so bad because going through most of this users powering down, I haven't found any useful information of their reasons for powering down. This act is called an ungrateful act because the people who made you who you are today doesn't have a clue of what's the reason of powering down. Being grateful should be part of our lifestyle and we should always be open to people who love us and supported us

I have seen some people Powering down in the past and their reasons for power down were clearly stated and people who supported them through Knew about it. This is professional and such people will always have a place in Steemit upon returning.

It is totally unethical for a leader to be powering down his account, community account and also encouraging all his leadership board and other Steemians to power down. This doesn't brings good to the steemit ecosystem because it's as if they were totally abandoned whereas not

Should We Also Power down?

In recent days, many big accounts where powering down, I got shocked of Steemians reactions and some wanted to start powering down as well. Their motives for also wanting to initiate a power down was that the worst could happen and steemit will eventually crashed. However, it should be noted that this is not the first time this is happening, people have been powering down but that has never caused steemit to crash. This is because this platform has a solid white paper and a very good projects, so powering down won't necessarily cause steemit to crash because they are are people also powering up on daily basis

So my dear people, we should all stay calm and stop panicking because the best is yet to come and it's just a matter of time now, we will all enjoy our stay in this platform. Please you people shouldn't do what you will regret tomorrow just because you see others doing

Let's #steem-on and continue striving during this hard times and be rest assured of enjoying in a long run as soon as crypto resumes it's bullish run

I'm here to stay and nothing is making me to live no matter what is happening or na matter what I might be going through.

My fellow friends of Steemit, why not join me let's continue this journey together? The future of Steemit is still very bright and be rest assured that we will one day be enjoying our stay here in Steemit when it will be above a dollar💪🙏💃💃. Please do not take actions that you will live to regret tomorrow when it might be too late

Long live steemit

It is also very damaging to communities when leading members power down.

Trust is then lost in those communities, and the remaining members will have to work doubly hard to restore that trust.

Of course, it has to be remembered that people don't have to only post in communities. They can just post on their personal blogs.

This is very true but the big question is how do we stop this from happening again in the future? Currently, two communities are on power down here in my country Nigeria, the funds in these wallets came as a result of the collective effort of all the users in the community but alas only one person will take the entire funds.

I wrote an article recently to hear from other users their opinion about this incident, few users dropped their view but in my opinion, I suggested that communities should not just be created by individuals instead the steemit team should be actively involved in running the affairs of every community so that people don't just wake up one day and power down the labour of all the users in the community.

Just like the crypto academy, we can have moderators who work for communities from different countries but before any fund is taken out the steemit team should be aware of what exactly the funds will be used for.

It would be interesting to know what people would think about having more centrally controlled communities.

The resource load would be very high, and the problem would be finding enough suitable people to manage all the communities.

It has been difficult to find enough people to be good Crypto Professors.

Trying to replicate that process for multiple communities would be close to impossible.

We also really want to see the community as a whole take the initiative and run projects for themselves rather than always relying on Steemit.

I will like to have a say here. Community is an integral part of steemit. Users are identified and verified via communities and they help fish out farming accounts. If it will be difficult for the steemit team to create communities and manage them through some trusted users, I suggest that the existing communities or the ones yet to be established be given a rule to set percentage to a particular account that will only be managed by designated users who will be appointed by the steemit team such that when the founders of the community power down, that account will remain for the contributors of those communities. So long as the founders of communities are the ones managing the community account, it is not possible to control the power down of the communities neither can you hold them to ransom for any cash out.

Then those communities should be treated alike who followed all rules by the steemit team. Building a Community is not n easy task.

Truly, finding suitable people to handle this role as in the case of the crypto academy will be very difficult. I now understand better why the team can not do much about other community management.

It would be interesting to know what people would think about having more centrally controlled communities

From the above, i believe a lot of people will buy the idea because it will be quite transparent, free and fair. No one will have to power down the entire labour of the users for himself alone. It would be in such a way that the resource will be use solely to support all those posting in the community. A certain % can be set optionally to help grow the community account.

Hello, just passing by,

Remember that Steemit Inc is not alone here in this big ocean, you have a solid team of witnesses who are skilled people too.

What if some witnesses get started new solid communities? For example, everyone knows @steemchiller and their amazing job, we could invite him to think about creating a new community that you could support with more trust and he can recruit a new team similar to what Comunidad Latina is doing.

This way @steemchiller could support us frequently and you can have more stronger communities with solid SP and protected by well known persons.

Of course mentioning chiller is just an example, you could invite the witnesses you want to run community based projects 😊

I extremely agree with your point. We all have to build our accounts from our own. I have seen that when a community is closed, all the members of that community are affected. And the one who has full access to all the keys of that community leaves this platform after powering down without caring about the people of that community.

I remember when some people came out of BOI after powering down, many of my BOI friends also distanced themselves from this platform.

It is also very damaging to communities when leading members power down.

I really feel what you are saying. The power down carried out by the community has a negative effect on its loyal followers. I was confused because the two communities that once appointed me as a moderator are now destroyed.

The Trust is the most valuable treasure. That is the main key to success. As long as the belief is still there, then we still have a chance to succeed.

It is also very damaging to communities when leading members power down.

Very correct sir. Communities are created by individuals but that shouldn't make them power down because members have also contributed alot to the growth of this Communities. Without members this Communities wouldn't have grown.

This shows how unethical this individual Maybe.

Carrying out this act will definitely devastate alot of Steemians because they will definitely be demotivated

Of course, it has to be remembered that people don't have to only post in communities. They can just post on their personal blogs.

Wow this will definitely motivate people not to lost hopes most especially during the period their community decides to power down. Hopefully, we pray this shouldn't be happening because posting in Communities will always leads to more interactions and engagement between Steemians hence making this noble platform a social and a lively place

You are absolutely right sir. We also faced a lot of problems with many users when the leadership in my country put the power down like this from their account and from the community account. But later we were able to move forward by working on our personal blogs and in various communities. Now again when we plan to work with users in my country, we have a lot of hard work to gain their trust.

It is very sad that when these communities grow, they start powering down. Recently, large communities have also started to step down. Country representatives are also powering down fast, which is a tragedy for the rest of the users. They should be the representative of their country to set an example for others. Unfortunately, they are also powering down. If the power goes down if there is a reason, it is a matter of belief. But these people are power down for no reason.

Suggestion to stop Power Down

  • First of all, only communities that are supporting users should get support. * The Steemit team should check out whatever community is formed and note down the number of Mods and Admins.

  • Each community should have a proportional share of all the Mods and Admins in the community wallet. ( 10 % extra for Founder or Admin)

  • A community is not only created because of the founder, but also the users who work in it are also contributing to its growth. And those hard-working Mods who are checking out the community because of their reviews. In this way, they also get the right to have their share in the community account. This way we can control the power down. Because I don't think the community founder will power down at will when all the moderators go against the power down. And anyway, the founder will know that even if he powers down, the moderators will also have to contribute. So that we can control power down. In my knowledge, we should stop power down. People should support other users as well. But at that time they started powering down. It shows that they have no concern with the growth of Steemit.

Of course, it has to be remembered that people don't have to only post in communities. They can just post on their personal blogs.

This is the best way. Most people follow that. Because quality content is always appreciated. Somehow, Powering Down communities leave a bad impression on curation.

I used to think of posting on my personal blog but i thought it was useless as the interactions might be low.

Thanks for this enlightenment Sir

That is where you need to build your personal network through commenting on other people's posts, entering contests etc.

If people like what you post they will follow you and then vote on your posts.

That is explicit enough to understand.

Thanks

Well-written article!! #steem-on

Thanks so much my dear friend @ozenozge for the acknowledgement. Indeed let's #steem-on

However, it should be noted that this is not the first time this is happening, people have been powering down but that has never caused steemit to crash. This is because this platform has a solid white paper and a very good projects, so powering down won't necessarily cause steemit to crash because they are are people also powering up on daily basis.

Thanks for the enlightenment. And this needs to be read by many other Steemian so as not to take the wrong attitude. I'm with you. Say no to power down!

Yeah absolutely my dear. We hope this serve as lessons to most people so that they shouldn't be discouraged because I know of many Steemians who have also started powering down in those communities simply because they where wrongly mislead by those leaders and they had no option than to take a nasty decision that will definitely end in regrets in future

This is one of the best articles I’ve read today so far. I’ve not been very consistent on steemit but that hasn’t stopped me from posting or even going ahead to power down the very little steem power I have gathered.

I believe steemit is a wonderful place and also heard more about the platform and I think with time everything will be restored back to normal.

This is one of the best articles I’ve read today so far

Thanks for this appreciation dear friend @kataali

I’ve not been very consistent on steemit but that hasn’t stopped me from posting or even going ahead to power down the very little steem power I have gathered.

Powering down is something we should practice most especially with the official account which alot of users have contributed to it's growth

believe steemit is a wonderful place and also heard more about the platform and I think with time everything will be restored back to normal.

Steemit is indeed a very wandeful place and we should be grateful for what steemit has done in our lives. It's a social place where alot of users have been rewarded by just publishing contents which is amazing. So powering down everything to disappear from steemit is something we shouldn't practice, most especially with a community account
