Hello dear steemians hope we all are doing well?Am to talk on the impact of planting trees in a water catchment area .
A catchment is simply an area of land where water is been collected by natural landscape after rainfall.
Tree planting around these areas helps to shelter the catchment from direct sun rays i.e reducing the rate of evaporation that may lead to water shortage

Another reason we do plant trees around catchments I'd due to the fact that , it helps binned soils together through its roots to avoid soil erosion that can cause the collapse of the catchment .water retains plants or trees such as accia, calliandra are planted to increase the volume of water especially in the dry season.
Tree planting also helps in ventilating the area and purifies water too.

Trees serves as natural sponges, collecting and filtrating rainfall and releasing it slowly into the streams and are the most effective land cover for maintaining water quality.
