How We Celebrate World Elder Abuse Day

The world elder abuse day is really a very important day to be celebrated also regarding the way the society is fast changing in moral conduct.

As concerns how this day is celebrated in my community, the celebration usually is done mostly by those with a certain level of exposure to the social media.
So this is to say in my community the day isn't acknowledged by many and the few that get to have an idea concerning the day do so by the help of media platforms and the celebration ends online by posting articles related to the theme on different social media handles.

Impact Of World Elder Abuse Day On My Community

In as much as the day is a well respected day worldwide, and also coupled with the fact that the day deserves to be looked into, the day can't be of help to someone who has little or no idea of it.
This is to say that the impact of World Elders Abuse Day with respect to my community, is almost negligible as the awareness isn't there.

What I Will Recommend To be Commemorated This Week.

Being in my community growing up, based on my own experience coupled with experiences of many other people, there are certain things i will like for them to be commemorated this day.
Some of which are;
  • The Place Of An Elder In The Society As Leaders.
  • This is so that people will understand that being an elder is not just a title. As an elder many look up to you for morals, direction, motivation, encouragement, etc...
  • The Value Of An Elder In The Society.
  • Elders preserve the society wisdom. that's why there's this common saying "what an elder sees seating a young man can't see even if he climbs to the highest heights". Their importance can't be neglected
  • The Rights Of An Elder In The Society
  • If the society can understand the rights of an elder, the elder abuse will be a scarce narrative.
    Growing up we were taught never to fight or insult with our elders no matter the circumstance whether they are in the wrong or not.
    That lesson alone will never permit someone abuse his/her elder
