Steem Cameroon Best Day contest -19-3-2025

Greetings steem Cameroon and all the steemians, today is another great one for us all to share our best day of the week. I know we didn't have a bad one all through so here is a great contest for us all. I had great and happy days throughout the week and I want to share it to you all.
Family is one great group we can't actually do without, I have been so close to my maternal village because of the relationship I have with my mom. From birth, I was too close my mother and her village even during long holidays. I will always tell people my origin is ikono local government area instead of nsit ibom.
I had long wishes of touring around my paternal village for long and it do seem so impossible for me, the funniest part is that my dad's village is not that far like my mom's own but my travels is always to her village.

I told my dad about my plans of visiting the village soon and he didn't really have much to say about the travel. He was only concerned about my safety and my reasons for visiting there, I explained everything to him and that I won't be the only person visiting the village.

I made an announcement in the family group about visiting the village and so many people agreed to follow up. My siblings were so interested because of their long to see this very river my dad talks about. We agreed on a date and moved in a public vehicle, on reaching there we rested for a while before making plans to hike to the place.
It was truly a far destination for us at that very first time, my brother said loudly "omor this place far oo..na here weh dem deh come fetch water?". We all laughed saying thanks to civilization though. Now we have boreholes almost everywhere.
When we approached the river area we where all sloping down with force, that was a sign of a close river.

Finally we reached the river area, we saw people around..children especially washing their uniforms around the river area. To me it was lovely because I have a picture and story from this very view, I walked up to them exchanging our dialect and relating freely with them. We even had pictures with them, it was so fun and lovely meeting this very river for the first time.
I didn't hold back my photography skills, I made sure everyone had a better slide to share to their family and friends. While I was taking pictures of my siblings we observed that fingerlings where rushing through the water, we tried catching one but to no avail.

I took selfies with my siblings and I was just jumping and playing around the water area without swimming, our people do say water is sweet only sweet in the cup which means that water can kill. I stayed off the swimming part because I can't, I didn't even try to fall inside. My sister helped me to handle the phone camera while I was inside jumping and playing, we really had fun there for about an hour before having thoughts of going.

Photography is my key skill so I did something special before moving out of the water area. I sprinkled the water on my sister's face while taking her zoom shots, it was truly beautiful from my view and it came out to be something clean.
That's actually the picture below looking so sharp and clean, I didn't know expect the picture to come out so beautiful after zooming it to X3. We moved out from the river waiting for some minutes for the water to drop off our body before wearing clothes.

Going to visit my paternal village was actually a dream come true, one with great stories to share. Also visiting this old time river was actually one of our wishes as kids, the photography exploration was great too.
I know with pictures we won't forget this very day and it will mark as our a best day for long.
