Mother and Foetus Dialogue During Pregnancy

Did you know that a growing baby in the womb needs his mother's voice on a daily basis? Yes they really do. In today's writeup, i will be talking about the importance of mother and foetus relationships; daily dialogue.

Internal communication
When we talk of the human placenta it is a very fascinating organ in the pregnancy stage. It is the organ where the baby sits while in the womb and grows as the baby is growing and finally leaves when the baby leaves( during child birth).

It is worth noting that, the placenta serves as a medium of communication between the mother and the unborn baby. It also transmits nutrients and oxygen from the mother to the unborn baby. Waste from the baby is as well expelled through the placenta.

Furthermore, as seen above, it is through this means that biochemical communication takes place between the mother and the foetus which occurs by releasing tiny bubbles like substances known as extracellular vesicles to the mother's blood. These contain nutrients like proteins, nucleic acids and lipids which all pave ways for better communication between the mother and the foetus.

Morealso, mother and foetus communication begins from the early stage of pregnancy till when the child is born and the pace increases gradually as time passes by. In some cases, this process of communication affects the mother in different ways; some women experience a rise in their blood pressure, increase in sugar level. These needs special attention as it can cause problems to both the mother and the child, though every symptom disappears after delivery.

External Communication
Another means at which mother and foetus communication can be done is by singing, talking while gently rubbling your stomach. This will immediately signal the unborn baby that his/her attention should be on the melody. This will enable the baby know her mother's voice, understand her language properly resulting to a strong bond between them which will last for a life time.

Lastly, responding to a baby's kick is another way of communicating with the foetus. A hello or hi or yeah i can hear you tells the child how much you love him to be with you. It is quite amazing to note that, babies start hearing their mother's voice when they are only 16weeks old.
