The Growing Gap|| A Story of Miscommunication and Mistrust||

Hello everyone

The situation between Rahul and Beauty deteriorated to such an extent that today they woke up without saying a word to each other. They both went about their routines, their communication problems persisted for quite some time despite their parents stepping in to help. Sadly, there was no improvement.

It all started about two months ago when Rahul returned home from work one evening and noticed that his husband was already at home, having built a wonderful life together for the past few years of their married life. They lived in a modern duplex with minimal boho decor, and their green shade garden, with a central pond lined with peace lilies, was the pride of their home. Both Rahul and Beauty had a keen sense of style.

Rahul stood there, a companionable smile on his face as he spoke softly on the phone, absentmindedly caressing the delicate leaves of their garden. Beauty went home without saying a word. When he finally came in, she greeted him and joined him in preparing dinner. As they cooked and chatted, Rahul waited expectantly for her to mention the call but she didn't. He kept waiting, through dinner and even when they retired for the night, but the subject never came. It was then that he concluded that beauty must have a relationship.
In the following months, Rahul carried these doubts. Beauty's phone calls continue and her frustration and suspicions grow with each one. Unable to take it anymore, Rahul finally decided to consult a lawyer and file for divorce. Surprisingly, the process took about a week, and he was ready to serve the papers to Beauty that evening.

That evening, Rahul returns home with his lawyer, ready to file the divorce papers. As they approached the house, he noticed that the electricity had gone out and everything was shrouded in darkness. He assumed Suhbe was still out with his mistress. Furious, she fumbled through her handbag for her room key, opened the door and rushed inside. For the past two months, Beauty had been planning this day, gathering all the people Rahul loved to surprise her and celebrate. The mysterious phone call was all about the surprise party. At that moment, Rahul felt an overwhelming mixture of shock, embarrassment, shame and guilt. His unfounded suspicions created a gap in their relationship and resulted in a breakdown in communication.

A relationship gap represents the space or opportunity that, when not addressed, leads to blurred lines and misunderstandings. This can magnify the situation of suspicion and mistrust. Because a gap indicates space, it opens up space for intrusion, whether in the form of negative thoughts or influence from another party.
Like what happened between Rahul and Beauty, the moment there was no clarity in Beauty's actions, a gap developed. Months passed without resolving the issue between the two and as a result, the gap widened. In this gap, miscommunication occurs, resentment spreads and in some cases relationships break down. This gap often creates issues, misunderstandings and emotional distance.
I strongly believe that the number one responsibility in any relationship is to close the gap, and this can only be done through effective and intentional communication. Without it, space between partners widens, and uncertainty takes root.
