Every week, one day stands out from the rest, a day that fills me with joy, excitement, and a sense of renewal. For me, that day is Saturday. As Friday ends, the anticipation of the weekend builds, and when Saturday arrives, I feel a wave of freedom wash over me.

So yesterday I woke up at 6 am because we had to go to Haridwar, but my wife canceled the program. The soft light coming through the curtains was like a warm embrace, inviting me to enjoy the day. I often start my morning with a cup of freshly brewed coffee, its rich aroma filling the kitchen, and I take a moment to reflect on my day.

Another highlight of Saturdays is the opportunity to connect with loved ones. Whether it’s hosting brunch at home or meeting friends for dinner, these gatherings are filled with laughter and shared stories. Nowadays, I don’t have the constraints of a work schedule or obligations, so it’s incredibly fulfilling to eat a meal together and enjoy each other’s company. I loved the day because I did laundry and let my wife have a much needed rest this weekend.

Saturday mornings are a different time. I have never set an alarm in my life and wake up without one. In fact, I have set my body clock to wake up at 4 am if I need to wake up at 4 am and 6 am if I need to wake up at 6 am.

This quiet time gives me a chance to set intentions for the day, whether it’s tackling a personal project or simply enjoying some leisure time. One of the best aspects of Saturdays is the opportunity for adventure. Unlike weekdays filled with responsibilities and routines, Saturdays are the perfect day for exploration.

I feel fuelling our body with a nutritious breakfast is essential. Foods like smoothies can provide the energy needed to kickstart our day positively. Enjoying this meal while sipping coffee or tea can enhance the experience, making it a moment of joy rather than just a routine task. I am not a foodie, but I love cooking once in a while and eating only healthy food. My wife loves it when I cook breakfast for the two of us. But let me declare, she doesn't let me enter the kitchen often as she considers herself the kitchen queen.

I don’t have any projects these days; I often plan an outing with friends or family—whether it’s hiking in nature, visiting a local market, or discovering a new cafe in the city. But our plans changed yesterday.

We often visit Haridwar, and these experiences not only break the monotony but also foster our connection with nature and create lasting memories. There’s something invigorating about stepping out of your usual environment and embracing spontaneity.

Every Saturday also provides me with ample time to indulge in my creative pursuits. Whether it’s traveling, writing, or meeting friends, I enjoy the hours spent immersing myself in activities that ignite my passions. This creative outlet is a form of self-expression and relaxation. These are the moments when I feel most connected to myself, allowing my thoughts and feelings to flow freely onto the canvas or page. But doing laundry when my wife is not feeling well is more joyful than all the creative work I can do.

I often think about what I am grateful for, whether it is the beauty of nature I saw during my walk or the deep conversations I shared over dinner. This practice not only increases my appreciation for life but also sets a positive tone for the week ahead. In summary, Saturday is more than just a day off; it is an experience that refreshes my soul and enriches my life. It offers a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, creativity, and connection.

As I look forward to each Saturday, I am reminded of its importance in maintaining balance and happiness amidst the hustle and bustle of life. It is truly my best day of the week—a memorable pause that allows me to recharge and embrace all life offers.

I loved the day because:

So, for me, yesterday was the best day of this week or even more joyful because I cooked and enjoyed the day with my wife, having a stroll in the park in front of our house, leaving behind the disappointment of not going to Haridwar. These moments remind me of what really matters in life, the relationships we cherish and the joys we share. As Saturday ends, I take time to reflect on my day.
