Hello, comrades,
Based on popular request and my personal observation on how steemian's are struggling to post unformatted content, I bring to you this guide on How to Apply Basic Mark Down tricks in Content Creation. I believe with this guide, your content will be well-arranged. I plead that you read the lesson thought by @cryptokannon in the newcomers' community on applying markdown.

A well-formatted post looks great and appealing. If you have been to or through Steemit Crypto Academy, you will understand what it means to lose 2 points allocated for applying mark down. Many mark down tricks do exist, but below are the few I would like to guide you with as you create content on Steemit Communities.

Below is a list of selected names commonly used for Mark Down.

HEADING

---

A heading is like a sign-post that focuses a reader's attention on the most important content in your writing. Headings are highly connected to the main point of your content.

The markdown trick used in writing headings is the hash mark sign (#). You just need to add the # sign before writing the heading. Make sure to add space after your # sign before writing your heading. See my example below.

The results are as seen below. Note that the more the # sign, the smaller your heading becomes.

EMPHASIS

The character used for emphasis is either the asterisk (*) or underscore (_). This enable you to either bold or italicize or both. To use these markdowns tricks to emphasize, you can do the following:-

SOURCE CITATION

It is also called linking. You know, on Steemit Blockchain there's a no tolerance rule when it comes to plagiarism. This makes source citation very necessary. Your ability to cite the sources you have consulted gives your work a great boost since it gives your readers necessary information on how to find the source of your content.

Picture Citation

The characters used here are the square brackets [] and the parentheses (). To achieve this markdown trick, simply do the following.

Open your bracket and write image source, then closed the bracket. After you have closed the bracket, open your parentheses, copy and paste the link of the picture or image and close your parentheses. Make sure not to leave any space between the bracket and the parentheses. See my example below:

Link or Text Citation

This can also be called referencing. This is a situation where you copy or paraphrased content from another source and give credit to where it rightfully belongs. Text citation is a bit tricky but not impossible.

When citing a link or text, do the following.

Block Quotation

This usually occurs when you are quoting someone's word verbatim. To achieve a block quotation, you use the greater than (>) character.
