This is my first time of posting in this community and I'm glad to take part in this amazing contest organized by @chant in steem cameroon

To be honest, the positive and negative impacts of a society can be measured with the level of successful or broken homes.

Broken homes leads to great distortion to the society while a successful home brings peace and happiness to the society.

No society wants to live in fears or live with high level of immoral lifestyle. This calls for a need to educate the home on the need to get it right.

What is your understanding of a successful Home?

A successful home is a home that is living in love, peace and in harmony. It is a home that is free from issues and problems that can thwart a home. A home where both parents and children are living happily.

It is a home where there is great love and unity. A home where everybody are bound by same vision and standard. A place where one find true happiness and great sense of belonging.

It is a home where one's interest is recognized and protected. A place where one feels secured without threat or danger.

Do you agree that a good society is determined by the number of successful Homes built?

Yes, I strongly believe that. Anything we see in the society is a determinant of what happens in the home. Good homes birth good and reasonable citizens that affect the society positively while unhealthy homes give birth to an unhealthy society. Most of the menace we have seen in the society is a result of many unhealthy/ broken homes.

Successful homes where the members are taught good morals give birth to a society where good virtues are encouraged and practiced has positive influence in the society.

Apart from the three pillars above, state and explain some other pillars you believe can contribute to a successful Home.

Apart from the three pillars already outlined, these are also pillars that can contribute to a successful home

• Understanding
Another pillar that contribute to a successful home is understanding. When everyone understands themselves, it will go a long way in knowing how to relate with each other and how to resolve issues that may likely occur and thwart in a home.

• Support/care
Support is another great pillar that can contribute to a successful home. When you have each other's back, it leaves one with a great sense of belonging thereby leading to a happy and successful home. Showing great concern to one another's well being is a pillar that contributes to a successful home.

• Forgiveness
This is a great tool to keep a home successful. When each person can easily let go of wrongs and mistakes, it will help bond the home together in unity and love. One of the things that can fall a home apart is lack of forgiveness. The truth is that one will surely offend another but forgiveness goes a long way in keeping the home together.

• Quality Time/Attention
Quality time is very important. Members of the home would want to be given attention when the need arises. When this is provided, ensures success and togetherness in such home

• Communication
This is very important. The line of communication should be open so that one can easily run to each other and express his/her feelings. It strengthens the home and keeps them bonded with each other.

What are the impacts of a broken home on society?

The impacts of a broken home are many.
They include;

•It affects the moral standard of a society Research has shown that many people who has turned to robbers, rapist and many other immoral lifestyles are products of a broken home. Some grew up in a home where they engage in domestic violence and everything they can contribute in a society is to cause troubles, quarell, violence etc.

In such homes, they were not given attention and good moral lifestyles were not cultivated in them. They take such lifestyle out and it affects the society greatly.
They constitute great nuisance in the society because of their upbringing

• Emotional stress
Another negative impact is that it causes emotionally stress to the members of such homes. The children are the ones that mostly struggle with this. They hardly have this feeling of being loved. It also affect them academically. It also affect the way they relate with people.

• Depression
This is another negative impact to such homes. The situation causes them to be depressed and most a times, it leads to suicide.

When one amongst them(Either the father, mother or children) can not cope with the situation, they might seek for options and many times, it results to death.

•Increase in divorce rate
Increase in broken homes has led to great increase in divorce rate in the society. The father and the mother gets separated and the children are greatly affected. Many a times, it makes the children to become wayward.

•Inadequate parental care
Increase in divorce as a result of broken homes leads to inadequate parental care. Most of these children are without parental care and they become vulnerable to many things. Some live in streets and others run into wrong hands just to get themselves protected. Some even go a long way to becoming robbers, cultist and even prostitutes.

Conclusion
The menace broken homes has caused to the society cannot be overemphasized. Everyone should strive to keep his home happy and successful. This will help the society thrive and make great progress.
