Introduction |

It's been a while since I got you updated my dear diary, it's with utmost pleasure and excitement that I have made this update since the last time we communicated.
My day, Sunday 8th September, was a lovely one. Waking up in the morning was a mixture of some annoyance and weakness in the body. The previous day, as I was preparing our dinner, I noticed the flame from the cooking gas was decreasing. That was an announcement that the gas had finished. It cut me deep inside. How will my children go to church if there's no electricity supply? What will they eat owing to the fact that we go to church early. Hence, the reason for the mixed feelings while waking up that morning.

However, I managed to stretch out of bed by 6am, 30 minutes behind our waking time. I managed to clean up my children with cold water since there was no electricity, true true. In a hurry as usual, we left for church.
The service was a two in one service. A member of the choir which I lead, and her family came for thanksgiving. Her husband was celebrating his 60th birthday, his peaceful retirement from civil service and also for their new house. Wow!

Church Thanksgiving |
---|
During their thanksgiving, the celebrant came out with his family to give thanks to God for sparing his life. In his testimony, he gave different instances where he was supposed to die but didn't die because God was mindful of him. He said when he was 4 years old, during the Nigerian civil war, that he was sick to the point that his parents dug a grave preparing for his death since they thought they won't have the time because of the civil war if he suddenly died.

He later gave instances of escape from several car accidents and two plane crashes and how he was kidnapped and tortured, but God's grace preserved him. It was a mixture of great happiness and tears of joy because of the touchy moment where the celebrant recounted the goodness of God in his life.
Afternoon Period/House-warming |
---|
From the thanksgiving in church, the choir was invited for the house-warming. With instructions, the choristers all moved to the newly built house where they settled to worship God for his goodness in that family. Afterwards, we were entertained with sumptuous meals and assorted drinks. To be candid, the edifice was a sight to behold. A beautiful and classy one befitting only the rich.
Evening Period/Going Home |
---|
After much entertainment and taking pictures, it was time to depart as we all left there for our different homes. Returning home, my face was just full of smiles and gratitude in my heart for how God had helped the celebrant and also viewing the beautiful house in my mind. I wished myself such a beautiful house.
I got home and went to sleep because I had eaten already. I woke up to realise there was no cooking gas, my husband had already gone out to search for where to buy gas because the gas stations don't open on Sundays. He went for almost 2 hours before he returned back before I could prepare dinner for my family.
After a while, we said our evening prayers. So, I prepared the children to sleep. After my children slept, that was when I logged in to steemit to engage on people's posts and respond to tags and comments. After which I began to write about the activities of the day into this diary. I noticed I slept off while still writing in the midnight so, I couldn't complete it.
