Home sweet home, I home after a couple of weeks. Like Nigeria elders will say, only an event can pull family members back home. Only a particular person had to pull me back home to see my parents.
For the past few days, I have been moving. I have to put things in order and follow some instructions to ensure everything is in order in my parent's absence. This is when you understand the task of being the elderly in the house.
I jumped up from bed, and my mom had to go show me some things in the market and the different markets around. She used the opportunity to inform me of the different market days. When we came back, my kid brother served me breakfast. It was made up of bananas, avocado, and local drink.
After my breakfast, I start arranging my dad's things. I had to weigh the bags, making sure we had the right weight. It took us all morning because he had some extra bags. He has been traveling, but this time he is going to a different continent. This will be his first to this continent, so we are making sure nothing is pulled out of his bag on entering. I had to take time to make sure he was carrying what was eligible to get into that continent.
Limbe has a high temperature, which can make you feel like staying in the shower all day. After putting it all together, I took my shower and went to bed. I was so tired that I didn't even notice when I slept off. I only wake up when it is time. This time was my traditional meal. Meal full of respect and power in Cameroon as a whole. The meal needs a lot of energy to prepare and holds a lot of value to the people of the grass field.
After eating, I brought the bags out and called for the driver. We had some visitors, and it was all about taking pictures and eating. So family members were doing the crying part, while I watched LOL. Well, I do understand. It is going to be a long time for them to see my Dad. As for me, it is not the first time he has taken on such trips. So all I'm thinking is how to hold the family in tag in his absence.
After the moments at home, I had a few chats and we will be talking. He sent me pictures when he checked in and shared them with the family before going to Bed.
