Steem greetings esteem steemians. Hope you all had a fulfilling day. On my part, it was a blast and will continue this evening as i share with you in excitement the second part of Tech Progress in Africa. So, buckle up let's get started
Today it's 2024, and the world as we know it is the most connected and integrated we’ve seen throughout human civilization; thanks to advancements in communication systems and especially the internet. It is not uncommon today to hear statements and slogans asserting that there is so much knowledge in the world available to those who seek it. Personally, I subscribe to that assertion, and distant learning, virtual libraries, the University of YouTube (as my friend funly calls it), and a lot more all attest to this. Need I emphasize the potential presented by this digitally connected world and its role in reducing the digital divide? Today, Africa’s tech ecosystem is making remarkable strides and promising to do more. Of course, why not? With global problems evolving with the rest of the world, it becomes, not only necessary but imperative for the solutions to evolve with it, and in this light, solutions that address the unique problems of the continent. Therefore, there’s a plausible argument for the new wave of investments of time, financial, and material resources. The strides in agro-technology, fintech, AI and robotics development, and other tech-based ventures echo many assertions, some being;
First, it sends a signal about Africa’s active role in this AI-based technological revolution. Secondly, the participation of the young folk in the advancement of the continent as seen in the overwhelming engagement of the youth in Africa’s technology space. Lastly, there’s the noticeable redistribution of public wealth, eased by a rewarding shift from traditional economies to digital economies which has been seen yielding a generation of young millionaires. For most people, it seems to be just business as usual but for keen, almost cult followers like me, it represents not only an opportunity for wealth creation but the decentralization of power.
