About the African child day celebration

Hello everyone, I hope you are all. Greetings to all Cameroon steemians and all.
Today I want to write about a unique and special celebration that is done on june 16.

International day of the African child.

This day is a day to celebrate and recognize the achievement of african children.
It is usually observed on june 16 every year.
Even though this celebration is fading over time, most schools still take it serious and I was opportune to attend one last year.

How it is celebrated

Children played roles of people from different african countries.
They were Cameroon, south africans, malawi, congo, ghana, Egypt, Mozambique, Arab and many other african countries and each children sang their countries national anthem and said things about their country.

The roles they played were amazing. Many africans are poor but they work hard for themselves. Nigeria and countries like Cameroon are even better than many african countries. Some still enslave the women and children.
The day of the african child serves to remind us of the sufferings of african children and how they keep struggling every day to become better leaders.

Purpose of this day

It is to create awareness. To let the african child to be seen and heard.

• End to child marriage
• End to child trafficking
• Every African child must go to school
• A stop to genital mutilation

Many African children are suffering and many keep suffering but on this day we are encouraged to pray for all our african children so that God will care for them. And give them what they deserve.

I wish that my school will have this event because I really enjoy it. There are a lot of refreshments served and the children dance the different traditional music of their countries.
