If you might have noticed I'm a kdrama and kpop fan so I watch those things a lot. I recently finished a kdrama titled Marry my husband and here's my review.

So it's a 2024 South Korean time travel drama of revenge romance and kinda comedy with 16 episodes of about 70 minute each.

The drama opens in 2023 when Kang Ji won who is the lead character is in the hospital, terminally ill with only about 6 months to live. Before being diagnosed with the terminal stomach cancer, she is married to Park Min Hwan who she's been with over 10 years now and her life is miserable because of the emotionally abuse she gets from her husband and mother in law. For years now since highschool, the only light in her life is her so called “other half”, her childhood friend Jung Su min since her mom left them before her father died. The little hope she had left is completely lost when she gets home from the hospital to find her bestfriend and husband in bed which has apparently been going on for long now. To make it worse, they are not at all bothered by her presence. As she tries to fight back with the little strength she had, her husband pushes her into a glass table where she falls and starts to bleed from her head. As her life fades, she barely them talk about her life insurance and that she was going to die anyway.

Somehow she wakes up to find herself in 2013, 10 years back to before she married her wicked spouse. That only means fate gave her a chance to get revenge and rewrite her story. Her grand plan??? To give her trashy husband to her bestfriend since she wants him so badly. In the process, she realizes that she can have key events transfered to someone else and change her fate. So if another deserves a terrible husband liked hers, it's none other than her pretentious ex best friend.

At first, she tries to break up with him but réalises that it wont work as he almost beats her up refusing to end the relationship. So she does all she can to avoid him while pushing her friend to him. Long before you know it, they have an affair and she uses that to end their relationship. All along, she had help from her boss Yoo Ji Hyuk who we later discover is also a time traveller and the company heir. He plays a really huge role in her revenge plan as he loved here all his past life but never got close or made a move cause he assumed she was living well and didn't want to spoil things for her. After she died in 2023, he attended her funeral where she discovered the truth behind her death and all the horrible things her best friend did to her behind her back. Frustrated and carrying all the blame for not being able to save her, he ends up in an accident few days after her burial and wakes up in 2013 determined to save her from her bestfriend and husband. He comes back with a blue heart on his chest which from flashback was noticed to be something Jiwon's dad always drew on her allowance( so probably her dad sent him to help her this time around). When he just came back, he was really worried about her experiencing the betrayal and death she did in 2023 but as soon as they both realized they're living their 2nd life, he works with her hand in hand to change her fate and for him to finally be with his one true love whom he only saw from a distance in his first life.

Ohhh it didn't end at just breaking up with him, she needed to get them to get married so her fate is completely transferred to Somin. Unfortunately, one of her coworkers who ended up to be her new friend in this 2nd life ended up with her fate of stomach cancer probably due to her also cheating husband and some clues she out together. But luckily she discover earlier and they made surgery on her to save her and get a divorce from her cheating husband. So she then planned for her ex husband to cheat on her ex Best friend as that seemed like an important factor in the whole fate transfer thing. Fast forward to it all, her bestfriend ended up killing Park Min Hwan and he fell thesame way she fell and died in 2023. Her bestfriend was later arrested and imprisoned after she invaded her house and tried to burn it down.

Her boss, who was now her fiance also had his fate transferred to his sinister ex girlfriend who died in a car accident. They got married and had 4 or 5🤔 kids and hopefully lived happily ever after😂.

My review...

The drama is a quite interesting, unique time travel romance and honestly my first time travel kdrama. I've seen kdrama with aliens, mermaids, goblin, witch and even doom himself but this is the first time I picked an interest in time travel and I'm glad it has a happy ending. I would definitely rewatch and recommend to you to watch as well. I even read online that the lead actress had to take a super restricted diet just to be thinner than she normally is and play the role of a cancer patient. Honestly this isn't her first drama I'm watching and she again did a great job representing the character. For her wicked husband, I've never seen him a series just some of his funny skits on Facebook and I didn't think he could be a villain BUT delivered the role of a selfish, evil husband very well.

From the lead actress, to the supportive new husband, to the sly bestfriend, to the evil husband and finally the side couples I couldn't mention cause of you know length: there was no one I did not love especially how the villain bestfriend and husband played their evil role so much that it makes me want to punch them or just hate them but as we know "hate the character not the actress/actor". I'd definitely be looking out for more of their dramas.
