What is your understanding of Non-Communicable Diseases?
Hello everyone. It is a great thought fom the organizer of this contest, for organize such an educative and an awareness topic about what depression is and it causes and effect. So to us the participants, we will be lucky enough to go explore more about what depressing is and then come write about it here. We will also have to share from our own personal experience which will really help for a better understanding of what it is

Non- communicable disease are a type of chronic diseases, but this ones in specific are not transferable. They are diseases of long time duration that eats up it victim slowly. This type of diseases are very dangerous and can cause major problems to it victims of care is not taken. This type of diseases can be as a result of loneliness, boredom and the inability of person being active or productive.

Have you or any close friends suffered from Depression? You might want to tell us what caused it.
I actually do suffer from depression once in a while. This actually happens to me whenever i am in the school. This sole because there isn’t most things that one can be doing here to be always active. Where i am schooling is actually far from my hometown and it is actually a new place for me. So i don’t really know people around here apart from my colleague students.

So apart from attending classes or lectures. I am mostly at home or hostel. It isn’t that whiles i am at home, i try to do something or get interactive with others here. I am mostly found in my room all alone. Which makes me lazy and bored very often. As a result of that, I tend not be interested in doing anything but to just be with myself. Which is what we can refer to as depressing. There is also the case of some of the students and my friends here. They are also most at times always by themselves and not in the mood to do anything active or productive. Which does result to the growth of depression in them.

How did you manage the situation?
The cause of the depression in my case is due to the lack of active or interesting things for me to do. Which is as a result of me being a stranger here. What i something do to battle that is to engage in some sporting activities like playing football once in a while. Also, i try as much as possible to go out of my comfort zone to go visit other friends.

We can then schedule a date to either go out and do something interesting which will help us battle the boredom we do experience.
Also, with the help of my self phone and the numerous apps and websites to get interactive with also helps me to battle my depression. Which also a good way to fight depression. This is because one gets entertained and busy with something like in the case of steemit, whereby you get to write so many contest.

Any specialist or health care centre to care for those suffering from depression in your country.
Actually i don’t know of any place that help people who suffer from depression. But there is definitely those places around just that i have no idea of where. But if i try to ask around there is the possibility that i will found out where they are.

I will like to also recommend the people and loved ones around us as some of the options one can look out for in order to battle their depression. This by explaining what one is going through to them. They will also try all in their power to help you out, either by also recommending someone to you or helping you out by themselves.

In case you meet someone suffering from Depression, what advice will you give to her or him?
If I ever come across someone suffering from depression, what i will advise them to do is to always try and surround themselves with people that keep them entertained. Also, i will also recommend for them to try and find something active like any sports activity to be doing all the time or most often. Something like going to the gym or anything that will keep them active.

In conclusion, depression can simply result from the inability of an individual to be active or keep themselves doing something active. So if that happens, they tend to be lazy which then result to them staying indoors or being alone because they wouldn’t want anyone to ask them to do something active. Which then gradually result to them being depressed.
Over thinking and constant worrying about things is also one of the factors that causes depression. This is because you tend to worried if things don’t go according to your plans or if things don’t work how you want it may something bad might happen. Which is absolutely wrong. One has to be less worried about things and always try to be a positive thinker.
