Hello everyone greeting you all, today I will be talking about the evolution of barbing. Barbering started way back in Egypt 4000BC, according to my research they used oyster shell and sharpened Flintstones in cutting hair
And barbers where highly respected in the society for cutting the hair of elites . The word barber was derived from a Latin word "barba" meaning beard , from my studies it's proves barbers were capable in their society and capable of other trades, also it shows people were very superstitious in cutting their hair so this work was handed in to the hands of very trusted men in the society such as the priest or the thief of the clan. archaeologist have discovered relic from bronze that points towards the used of sharpened Flintstones and oyster shell for shaving, also the painting and marketing recoverd from remains of early Egyptian civilization display clearly that the profession was an honored work , also from more finding it shows that hair style were a form of social class which means the king's , clergy and slaves all had different forms of hair styles and they all had their barbers . From Egypt the barbing profession also spread to many part of the world including, Athens, Greek and Rome .now I will like to talk now on modern day barbing
This profession has seen a lot of changes lately from the tools to the cutting technic , technology has giving barber the freedom to experiment with their skills and with the increase in competition barber have to give in the best so to stay at the top and all these have generally raised the standard of barbing around the world.
Evolution of barbing equipment. Classical razors that had to be sharpened every minute have now been replaced by modern safety blades, Manuel clippers have now been replaced by electronic clippers that provide easy and very fast clipping, now to add the cordless clippers which is really easy, flexible to use and ease movement
To conclude the history of barbing is one of the oldest profession in human history, it has a great history that should be studied by all barbers that's taking the industry seriously. Thanks for reading
