My pastor and his family

Today being the second Sunday in the month of May was sent aside for reception of our area pastor (Mr/Mrs Rev. Ime Williams). It's was an amazing events. It was a big ceremony other members of the church from different branch came for the reception ceremony.

Breakfast

Today being Sunday I woke up on time to pray, then do the house chores and start getting myself prepared for church service. I'm not a fan of morning food on Sundays but due to sickness I had to eat something so I can take my medicine. I had pap with akara then took my medicine before leaving for church to avoid feeling uncomfortable in church.

Dressed up for church

Done with food then get ready for church. Rain seems to be waiting for me to finish 🤦 It's started raining heavy that we had to wait a little bit for the rain to go down so we can leave for church. Was happy that the rain didn't stop us from going to church today and we didn't missed today's service (reception service). Due to the rain I couldn't take a photo 🤦

In Church

By 10:am we arrived at church. When we got there youth choir were singing. After that the assistant pastor came out and collect tithes. Followed by praise and offering. Then we listen to the message after a piece render by the musical team. The topic of today's message was "The Holy Spirit our helper". By our assistant pastor. Bible reading: matt.28:18-20. Points: The holy spirit is our comforter, a promise from God. We all need the help of the holy spirit. When it seems like there's no one to help you, the holy spirit will be your helper. The Holy Spirit will announce you to people. It's was a great preaching, after the preaching he pray for us and the church.

Marching in our pastor and his family

After preaching the first session was over and we move to the second session of the day (Reception service). Before the second session begins there was a open prayer and singing of hymn to start the ceremony. When people were called to the high table, the members were asked to stood up as our pastor march in (with his family). People/choristers went outside to march our pastor in. The musical team were singing as our pastor march in, everyone were happy (filled with joy) as the dance and welcome our pastor in and dance with them to their special table set for them.

High Table

Our pastor and his family have a seat first before the whole church sat down. It was a nice ceremony 🙂 my parents were at the high table too. After a belief open remarks by the chairman of the occasion, donations were make and gifts were given to our pastor and his family.
