Hi steemians I just decided to write about my experience on the 4th generation set.
This has been so far my biggest movie project and a project I sacrificed greatly for. Explains the bullzero.
Family, friends and classmates just couldn't understand my passion for acting. What really slowed me down in the movie world was the fact that I am a student and I just have to manage the little time I have away from school to make movies. I have been to a few sets but the 4th generation set was the most adventurous and remarkable set in my life.
I got to create connections with the holders of cinema in Cameroon. The likes of Alene Menget ,Sunday Emade
, Cossom Chinopoh and Vulga Samsung Aka "grandpa".
The most important things about this project were lessons learned , the foundation made, proving to myself that I am strong and bold enough to take certain decisions and not necessarily what was entering the pocket. 4th generation had about 150 casts.
Three auditions were done for this movie and I attended the last one in Limbe. That was when I heard about the audition and that was my first time in Limbe. It was so daring travelling from Bamenda to Limbe alone for an audition, somewhere I had never been before. I was casted as a skinhead warrior.
Amongst a cast of 150, there were just 10 skinheads. So we played a vital role in the movie. While onset,
alot happened and i also got to socialise with a lot of actors both French speaking and English speaking. It was so challenging when Continues assessments came up in school and I had to be travelling to and fro to see how I can manage the two important things. Thanks to my all supportive mom and biggest fan always where I wanted her to be when it comes to my movie career. Mehnn it was soo amazing onset, the silly arguments , jokes, new friendships, adventures in the botanic garden and Forest, praying together, eating together, tasting new fruits from the botanic garden, training together,
I personally learned how to use the bold and arrow
and overall the feeling of belonging. The biggest sacrifice I did was accepting to skin my hair that I had grown for years.
I really dared myself, walking around school confidently with bullzero like an African queen and not exactly bothering what people think. I stayed on set in Limbe for a month and a half, mastering lines, receiving fighting training, doing and sending my assignments online most at times to understanding lecturers and acting.
The movie was a bloody movie, more of action and less talking. That was the highest moment I had a strong social media presence. Posts from friends, family and bloggers.
During the last week on set, some people were selected to be members of golden dreams entertainment and perfom in every of their movie in and out of the country based on how they portrayed themselves while on set. I was selected for one of the most passionate actress. Well in the movie world, we just say actor referring to both male and female so permit me if I will be using the word actor throughout this post and other posts. The movie made a lot of noise on social media and outdoor media( electronic billboards and posters) in a way that we the skinheads were being compared to the "Black panthers".
I got messages from people and calls saying " Janice, I just saw you on a billboards here in Douala" it was soo amazing feeling like a star for some months hahaha. The movie was later on premiered in Dla and We are awaiting the release of the film. I think I will write about the Premier some time. Tell me if you want to know how the Premier went, the attire and how I appeared.
Waouh @janicenini I love this post! You nailed it. You made me remember one of the quotes i love so much
You really are passionate of what you do, i love the zeal and passion, the bulletin for me is the ultimate sacrifice from this generation where everyone is obsessed by their hair. I'm tempted to say I love you already. Hahaha but I won't though I have. Congrats already because I see you going places with that passion. The lord is ever faithful. Just keep Him close and he'll expose you to places you never knew you'd go.
I'd really like that you tell me more about the title of that movie 4th Generation I'm intrigued by the title.
Really you met with the man who said "I want knack your kanda"😂😂 i love that man's acting. And syndy emade too waouh!!!
Congrats once more and keep going shalom!❤️

I really love how passionate and dedicated you are this.
I've once came across a poster or so on this 4th generation and I'm really liking it. The fierce look, the naturalization of it all just makes it waow.
Lots and lots of courage and looking forward to watching the movie.
I can see some actors I love so much like Syndy Emade, grandpa, and happy to know you too Jeanice Nini.
