Greetings my dear steemians. Hope you are doing well?, I thought I should share my experience of the 4th generation premiere. This was the biggest movie project I acted in. After 4th generation was shot, the Premiere date was announced as well as the dressing code. People were asked to appear in traditional wear representing their place of origin. I had taken measurements for my attire in Bamenda some weeks before though my mum wanted me to make the dress in Douala because she thought they wouldn't design the dress well in Bamenda. I wanted to prove to her that alot of good things come from Bamenda.
She is based in Douala by the way. Tickets were out and were sold in Buea, Yaounde, Limbe, Douala and Bamenda. My family also bought their traditional wears to come support me, my uncle, aunt, my dad and mum and my close friends as well. The level of love and support was amazing especially from my mum, my number one fan.
She paid for my dress, makeover, took care of the friends I travelled with from Bamenda for the premier and every other thing. I arrived Douala the day before the deal day with my two close friends, we rested and mum took us out to get our nails done, we went shopping for my shoe and purse and I skinned my hair again. The day of the premiere, mum got us a makeup artist who did make-up at home for everyone and I felt like it was my wedding day. By evening, we went go the premiere ground.
So I wanted a dress that was traditional and represented my culture but classic too. So I did a gown traditional at the top and classic down.
people, actors and actresses appeared in different beautiful attires representing different places, the Douala, Bamenda, and others My dad came later on in his traditional attire too.
Actors sat at a different angle, then skinheads at their own table and family and friends had the rest of the hall, siting according to their tickets. Artists performed and comedians as well. Actors were called to go on stage
God my heels were so high, I was scared to fall. We were introduced
and we watched the movie quietly with lights out till the end where the lights were turned back on and everyone cheered to the beauty of the movie. Snacks were distributed, we had a speech from the producer of 4th Generation herself and then, the after party started.
I had to go change my gown and get into a more comfortable dancing attire. Ofcourse my dad left us there and went home before the after party. We danced and celebrated till late in the night, got back home and slept till the next afternoon.
