The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is a United Nations-sanctioned day that occurs annually on November 25. The day works to raise awareness of the prevalence of violence against women around the world and to call for its elimination. The day also serves as a reminder that violence against women is a violation of human rights.

How do you or your country or your organization celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women?

In our country, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is celebrated by holding events and workshops aimed at raising awareness of the issue and ways to prevent it. We also work with local organizations that help women who have been victims of violence.

What impact does your community gain during and after the Commemorated?

Some potential impacts that communities may gain during and after the Commemorated International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women include:

-Awareness about the issue of violence against women and its prevalence in the community

-Increased access to resources and support services for survivors of violence
-Greater community involvement in prevention efforts to end violence against women

What issue or concern will you recommend to be commemorated this week and on what date?

I recommend that we commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3.
