Yeah that happens, a mentor who is intimidated by the mentee is not a good mentor. Mentors are always happy to have mentees greater than them. How can you plant a seed and when it grows to a tree and bears fruit for you, you cut it down because it bore fruits? That means you don't believe in the seed you planted, or better still the seed want yours in the first place.
