The internet has been an indispensable tool in my country in the past years. It all begun with ladies in my country trying to get husbands through the internet, but today we notice a difference though not too large in the perspectives of many.
As a student, the internet helped me alot at the undergraduate level. Both for my research project and also for class assignments. The internet is a huge database which bears record of many subjects of differing fields.
In my field of study while studying proteins and peptides we always need a database. And since my country is a developing country we cannot have our own instruments to run tests and have our own values. So we rely on the developed world to run the tests under standard conditions and bring out reference values which they upload to the database online from where we refer our own obtained values.
The internet has been and indispensable tool for the advancement of the scientific research world. We can basically run tests which could take us months to get results in minutes because I the database.
During the Corona pandemic, we couldn't have classes normally anymore so the internet came in and we could have classes normally without leaving our homes. Thanks to apps like Zoom, Duos, WhatsApp and many others.
The internet is also a great tool for entertainment and information seeking. We have online journals which feed us with political, social and intellectual informations.
One can connect with Penn friends and family abroad through the internet.
I remember a friend of mine who had the DV lottery and is now the bread wimmer of the family meeting the various needs of his siblings at his young age.
