Hello steemians of these amazing block chain and community from my home town of Bamenda in Cameroon. So today a friend of mine was getting married. We've been friends since secondary school so definitely I had to show up and this is how my day was.
So I woke up in the morning very early actually. By 6:30AM I was awake to prepare. Since it's weekend I did laundry. I had some dirty dresses at home so I had to make sure they were clean before I left the house. Sadly for me our tap cut so it took me a longer time than I expected to complete the laundry which I'm happy I eventually did.
After doing the laundry, I had to look for something to eat which I did then I rested and by 1PM I took off to town since I live in Bambili too. The traffick between the mile 4 Nkwen and mile 2 Nkwen stretch nearly killed me. I took us over 40 minutes to drive that distance. And today was a Saturday which I expected that we won't have traffick but I guess I was wrong. When we arrived mile 2 I took a bike to our home at Ndamukong street so I could catch up with time since I was already running late.
When I got home, I dressed and prepared for the wedding. I went there with another friend so we finally got to the hall by 3:30PM and boom the hall was full with almost all tables occupied so we sat at the back, the last table actually of the hall. The only thing which really consoled us was the bottles of alcohol we had Infront of us lol.
The occasion was actually beautiful with an amazing host and a pro DJ so everyone kept shaking their heads and dancing unconsciously. Next was the time for gifts. The line was long, so we waited patiently until it reduced then we went and handed our gifts and danced with them as well. Like every Cameroonian wedding even if you don't know how to dance to show that you're truly happy for those getting married you're expected to show a style when handing your gift which we all did (go with the flow).
As we wrapped up with gifts next was the eating time. I must confess this is actually my best time in every wedding. Our table was the 5th table, yep 5th so we ate pretty much before alot of people. I guess this is the only time I was happy we sat behind. Luckily too the food was delicious and every chew was worth it. I ate yam and ndole in Cameroon we call this occasion meal.
After eating, it was obvious that the wedding as over. In Cameroon when people finish eating in your occasion especially in Bamenda they leave. That's a polite way for you to tell people that you can now go reason why it is always the last activity in every occasion.
So after eating my friends and I stepped out too some photos and yeah we left wishing the couple a happy married life.
