Hello beautiful people and happy youth day to you all am here to share with you guys a brief understanding on how the today celebrated youth day came about.

The date February 11th was chosen to commemorate the referendum that took place on that day in 1961 which saw southern part of British Cameroon decides in favor of joining newly independent cameroon. The northern part of British cameroon chose integration into nigeria. This day is originally the plebiscite day not youth day. A cameroonian celebrated historian and political analyst Dr Williboard Dze-Ngwa said it's a vicious attempt to distort historical facts.

Endeley voted for British Cameroon (southern cameroon) to integrate with nigeria but John ngu foncha preferred a reunification with french Cameroon. The government of foncha announced it's intention to commit the plebiscite day to the country's youth day by the end of 1963 meaning that the youth day will be no longer be celebrated on 26 of October but will instead be held on the 11 of February

The flag by then two star on the green and was first hoisted on the 29 October 1957 with its colors which are the green, red and yellow representing the struggle of africans for self government during the second world war.
