Good day great friends, today is a wonderful day for us, I hope you all agree with me on that, cause I will talk about some drugs classes, their types and some examples. Enjoy yourself as you read through.

Anti malaria

Antimalarial is a class of drug that can be used to treat or prevent malaria disease in human.
There are different active ingredients that makes up an anti-malarial medication which are artemether & lumefantrine, hydroartemisinin & piperaquine, sulfadoxine & pyrimethamine, amodiaquine & artesunate.

Some examples of anti-malarial drugs are lonart, coartem, amatem, p-alaxin, upxin, amalar, camosunate, antimal, laris, etc.

Antibiotics

Antibiotics are drugs/medications that can cure diseases that are caused by bacteria or prevent the development of bacterial infection in humans.
Then we have some of the types of antibiotics which you will find below.

Types of antibiotics
  • penicillin
  • Cephalosponins
  • Tetracyclines
  • Aminoglycosides.
    These antibiotics can cure boils, typhoid infections, bacterial infections, and even some misfunctions in the ear as the case may be.

Examples of antibiotics drugs are ciprotab lincypro, cenox, erythromycin, azithromycin, ampicillin, doxycycline, etc.

Anti-diabetic

Anti-diabetics are drugs that cure diabetes. They are also drugs that are used to regulate abnormal high glucose level (sugar level) in the blood.

Types of some of the antidiabetic drugs

They include:

  • Insulin
  • metformin
  • Glibenclamide,
    Examples of these drugs are glanil, glucophage, co-mepiryl, panfor, etc.

Anti-hypertensive

Anti-hypertensive is a type of medication used to treat and sure high blood pressure. High blood pressure is also called hypertension. This is when a blood pressure is too high and is above 180/120.
Some Anti-hypertensive drugs are made to either bring down high rate of blood to the normal level or normalize a low rate of a blood.

Types of Anti-hypertensive are;

The following are some medications for Anti-hypertensive: Amlodipine, lisinopril, vasoprine, nifedipine, amlovar, hydrochlorothiazide, arbitel-H, etc.

Multivitamins

Multivitamins are types of drugs that are used to cure vitamin deficiency is the human body as a result of adequate balanced diet the body lacks. It also helps build up that blood in the body. A multivitamin medication can be in a syrup or capsule form.
Some examples of the multivitamins are; astyfer, astymin, HB12, Dr hommels, de deon's, homoforce, ferovital, feroglobin, ferrotogen, octamin, thiocal 12, orheptal.
You can find these multivitamins in capsule form or syrup form, they all work the same.

Anti-inflammatory

Anti-inflammatory can also be called NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), they are drugs that helps to reduce pains (inflammations). They can be taken either orally or applied as cream on the affected area.

Inflammations causes pains in the muscle or even in joints as it may be.
Some of the examples of anti-inflammatory drugs are; diclofenac, ibuprofen, aspirin(a high dosage of aspirin), Note - "a less dosage of aspirin is not considered as NSAIDS only high doses", naproxen, celecoxib.

The there are some anti-inflammatory creams you need to know which are; volteren gel, diclomol, capsaicin cream, menthol cream, etc.

Injections

Injection is a type of drug that is giving into a person's body (especially liquid) with the use of a needle and syringe.

Types of injections

Intravenous injection (IV): This is a type of injection that involves the injecting of a drug with a syringe into the vein.

Intramuscular injection (IM): This is a type of injection that is being injected directly into the muscle.

Subcantaneous injection (SC): This involves injecting a drug under the skin. It requires a short needle and do not need force to inject unlike the IM.

Consumables

Let me talk about consumables as a part of pharmaceuticals.
Consumables aren't drugs but has some aspects in the medical line. They are equipments used and disposed by consumers or individuals and are bought on a daily basis.

Such equipments wear out and should be replaced often.
They include; syringes, bandages, cotton wool, tubes, drip sets, sutures, cannulas, scalp vein, etc.

With these, you can learn some medicals, medications and know their classes, where they belong. You can see some examples of them all and their types, go through them and research more on them, take good care of yourselves, clean your environment and use mosquito net to avoid mosquitoes so you won't fall a victim of malaria disease, drink clean water to avoid typhoid disease, normalize taking too much of sweet and sugary foods to avoid diabetes, eat fresh foods and vegetables to be healthy and strong, with all these remedies life will be better for us all.
