From Knowledge to Power!

Greetings Steem Mates. I hope we all had a wonderful weekend.

On October 26, 2024, an empowerment event organized by MASA Skill Academy was an enriching experience. From leadership to tech, personal growth to business, I soaked up knowledge from incredible speakers. Plus, I was honored with the opportunity to motivate participants.

I had 10 minutes to encourage participants and I briefly spoke on the importance of taking action after acquiring information because, as I always say, it's not the acquisition of knowledge that is power, but the application of acquired knowledge that makes an individual powerful.

I also shared the importance of effective communication skills and encouraged the participants to hone their elocution skills, no matter what career they are pursuing in life. Why? Because we communicate in all that we do.

This event took place at the Texas Institute of Public Speaking campus in Bamenda and was a partnership between MASA Skill Academy and other organizations, including the Texas Institute of Public Speaking, where I am the current Manager.

As I was listening to the presentations and being blessed, I made an observation about the quality of speakers emerging in Cameroon. I can relate to a prophecy Oliver Nshom, my mentor, gave some time ago about a time coming when Cameroon is going to be the biggest exporter of professional speakers from Africa.

It's a beautiful thing to witness! The public speaking industry in Cameroon is still "virgin." This means that public speaking is new to many, and so the people who are going to be deeply rooted in the industry are those we call "early adopters."

People (young and old) are embracing public speaking at a high rate, and not only that, they are emerging powerfully. In 5 years from now, I believe we will start noticing these changes.
