The Orator's Banquet!

Warm greetings to everyone in the Steem community. I hope you're all doing well today.

Today was a wonderful day for me as I attended a speaker's banquet organized by some senior colleagues in the speaking industry.

It was an honor to be in the same room with people who inspire me in the public speaking industry in Cameroon, and it was equally a pleasure to be surrounded by individuals who share this passion for oratory or speechmaking.

It was a beautiful experience to learn from their journeys and insightful sharing. Their stories taught me that whatever we do in life always has a humble beginning and a process that can be quite challenging at times, but giving up should never be an option.

I had the chance to make many new friends and reconnect with old ones.

I also participated in a great exercise that I've been looking forward to for some time now. This exercise is called board breaking and is meant to help us overcome our fears, just like walking on broken bottles that I did in some other training and posted here a while ago. The exercise required all participants to write their greatest fears on the boards provided and then break them with a punch 👊.

The board is placed flat between two chairs with only the edges resting on the chairs, and then you (the participants) break it with a heavy blow using your body weight.

I must confess that it was harder than I anticipated as I had to hit it over four times before successfully breaking the board that carried my fears.

Another exercise involved grabbing snakes with eyes closed, which I declined to do. However, I enjoyed watching the reactions of those who did. Some were courageous, while others screamed their lungs out.

It was a great experience filled with laughter, learning, and overcoming fears. The day concluded with lunch, and afterward, we all went home with smiles of fulfillment on our faces.
