An election is a process were some one or some groups of persons decide to vote for some body or a group of people to lead, govern or rule them.
The elections in my country, i think is a good one, because it is carried out decently and properly. It permits both males and females to participate in the elections. The elections ministry has good and thoughtful decisions, that permit only adults to take part in the elections, for example, You can only stand as an electoral candidate from the age of 35years and above. The candidate must be a Cameroonians by nationality and also have a proof of residence in Cameroon of atleast 1year or 12 months and above. The people to vote must also be Cameroonian citizens before they can be allowed to vote. The voters must be in possession of a National identity Card and a voters card. The ministry in charge of elections, make sure they put the elections on a public holiday so that every one would be at home and ready to vote or on a Sunday which is considered as a non working day.
The electoral system in my country is a good and easy system, which just needs understand and following of instructions. It is conducted by an independent body called ELECAM, which means Elections Cameroon. The voting is carried out peacefully, free, and like a contest, where people vote for the party that they desire. Not every one is allowed to vote, when i say so i mean children below 18 are not permitted to vote. The voting age is 18 and above, because one side of the majority of the population of the country is made up of youths, and denying to allow the youths in voting is like telling the active population not to vote. At the age of 18, youths are permitted to establish identity card and voters cards, and are considered able to work and pay taxes.
The elections in my country are carried out through a decent manner and with a lot of preparation. The government does all she cab to make surr information reaches every part of the country and avoid double voting or discrimination. Before the elections, information is spread in a mass form of communication through Television news , advertising and through radio broadcasting and even discussions 😄 on how the voting will be carried out and other relevant materials in regards to the voting. Some candidates have supporters who helps them in spreading news for the candidates, by printing tshirts with their faces and the party on it or printing other tangible material and sharing to the population. The voting is done in a form almost like balloting where you get the candidates voting info and drop in a box, one person after another person and with just a single vote. The candidate with the highest voters wins.
The elections are transparent and fair. There is no discrimination, no riot or any form of disturbance. No one will actually force you or take you out of your house to vote. Once your know you're eligible and ready to cast a vote, having your identity card and voters card, then you can vote who you wish.
I think that if there's no form of fairness and transparency, then many things would have to be put in order by the forces of law and other. Some people may want to cause riots and confrontations in some areas where the vote is to take place, some candidates may want to temper with the votes, i think that the country has some laws in regards to the election process and if you find your self wanting with any penalty then you have to face the law. So people should be care, minding their businesses and voting for who they want and stay indoors too because it might not be safe as one cannot tell.
Elections are really a good way to choose leaders and dispite the negative and positive encounters during those periods, we can only pray for the Will Of God and good Leadership from the candidate who wins.
I am inviting @maryamnadeem, @liasteem, @solaymann to follow steem-cameroon, subscribe and participate in this Engagement contest. We win together 🙏🇨🇲.
