Cameroon Steemit Njangi beneficiary post ||investing in agriculture || By @nafisatu

Extending my greetings to the Steemit family. A few months back our country representative @thegreens, together with all the admins had brought up this idea of the Cameroon Steemit njangi, allowing Cameroonian steemians to own shares, anyone was permitted to own as many shares as they were possible. Every beneficiary of this njangi used 50% of their njangi, which is 26 Steem Dollars for power-up of Steem Cameroon account, and 50% (26 Steem Dollars ) for his/her personal use. You can read more about this Cameroon steemit njangi here: Cameroon Steemit Njangi Program

Reason for this post

For a long time now, I have been part of a group made up of just ladies, age group of about 20 -25years, some are students while some are already earning salaries. These ladies began a farming project in the year 2018 in which every year they go to Foumbot (a village in the western part of Cameroon) they contribute money, see how much they have put together then put down a plan of action.

Cultivation.

They rent a piece of land and cultivate either maize or beans. They pay workers to do everything in the farmland, then when it’s time to put fertilizer, they buy fertilizer and go pay workers to put on the crops. They pay because they are either busy with work or school.

Harvest time.

When it’s harvest time the girls all gather together if necessary pay for more laborers. Together with these laborers, they harvest these crops. The harvest is then divided into two parts. One part goes to the orphanage and IDPs(internally displaced persons) around the community. The other one part is taken to the market and sold out then, everyone is given back the amount he or she invested. Then finally the profit is shared according to how much you invested.

Marketing the products.

Selling the product is not a difficult task because there is what we call “farm to market”. As the crops are harvested, some transporters are ready to buy as much of these products as there are available, transporters from Nigerian, Gabon, and other places.

My remarks.

It was quite a good innovation and has helped out Orphans and IDPs in the town of Bamenda. The farmland is very fertile, about 3 hectares of land and located in a good and safe area too, so much so that there is always 100% harvest. The news has been spread, and sometime from now, we’ll be hoping to get foreign investors that would support us. This would be my first time investing, and it would be thanks to steemit. I have always loved to invest in the project, but as a student who still lives under her parents and depends on them for everything, I never had the chance or funds to invest. Thanks to steemit, @steem-cameroon, and most especially @thegreens for this njangi initiative I’ll be able to invest in. Am so much grateful @thegreens.🙏🏻

A friend of mine recently told me in layman language that “the only legit shimark now is agriculture” which indirectly means that the only assured means of making real and legal money is investing in agriculture. I pray that God almighty should make the harvest a great one.

Below are some pictures of the farmland during last year's cultivation and harvest.

I wish that I get the support I need from my steemit Family.

Thanks for going through.🙏🏻

That's an awesome initiative @nafisatu. I am sincerely happy the steem njangi initiative has been able to get you into something this commendable. I wish you all the best in your endeavors. And I'm thankful to @thegreens for creating this Steem njangi to help us grow.

All thanks to @thegreens for this wonderful initiative. And what a good project you have going on there in foumbot. My mum always tells me one thing that doesn't fail is farming.

From the benefits we tend to handle one or two projects that will be of great help to us. I don't regret joining it as well and can't wait to recieve my own.
