Hello Greetings dear steemians hope you all are doing well. I have decided to start a series on music theory. This will help anyone from beginners level in music to become familiar with basic music theory this is for all especially those who want to play instruments and or sing. Follow me along as I bring chapter one today talking about scales.

1.1 WHAT ARE SCALES IN MUSIC?

Scales are the ingredients in which music is been played or song in. Scale determine someones sound and style.

In other words, a scale is an organised combination of musical sounds starting from the lowest to the highest.

Examples of scales are:
• Dorian scale
• Pentatonic scale
• Blues scale
Just to name a few but I will explain in detail many more types in subsequent chapters.
Harmony and Melody makes up a scale

Definition of some musical terms

Harmony: this is the study of chords how they are formed and used in a song

Melody: this is an independent movement of musical sounds that are well organized. For example a song is a Melody. The saxophone can sing melodies as well as the human voice.

Chord: a chord is a combination of atleast three notes..but some complex chords have 4 to 7 notes.

An Example of a chord using a guitar below 👇

Waow I'm glad to hear that sir

One will surely learn how press some notes or strum some keys for you. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you ma'am..yeah you sure Will.

Great

Thank you Becky

Bro theory is different from practice ohhh. If you define those terms by showing it practically it will be better

Yeah that's very true but you have to understand what you are doing and know exactly how it is called before you do it...so that's why we do theory. For example if you go now and someone says play a chord on an instrument you might not know how to playbut atleast you understand what a chord is .so after theory you can go for your practice. Thanks

Yes that's true 😂

Yeah Bro
