I'm here to continue from where I stop in my previous post "learning about chicken", but today I'm going to share another important aspect of chicken which as to do with management system. Drag your sit 🪑 close has I bring you this special edition fill with knowledge.
Let's get started!
Management System
Basically, there are three system of management in livestock farm namely;
Intensive farming
semi-intensive farming and
extensive farming
Intensive farming
This is a type of farming that requires skills labour and large or huge amount of capital for operations. A farmer who chooses this type of management system should bear in mind that is venturing into commercial farming because investing large capital requires high returns. Chicken that can be reared in this system are layers ( those birds kept specifically for egg production), Broilers ( those birds kept for meat) and it must be in large quantity.
Extensive farming
this is the system of management that requires little or no skill for operations. Its also required little amount of capital for investment. The type of chicken that are reared here are local chicken that goes out in the morning to fend for their food and come back in the evening
