Steem Cameroon Contest - My Short Movie Script: Sad (Broken Relationship) By @oadissin

How are you doing dear content creators and curators?

I have a passion for watching movies, but I have never tried to write a script for a movie before this event on Steem Cameroon about the author’s Short Movie Script.
The scene will be all about an unhappy end between characters who would never desire to live apart, but faith decided otherwise.

A broken relationship generally translates as a situation in which a strong union between two individuals has deteriorated to the point where each person is leaving the previous bond with pain, emotional distress, and a sense of loss. A broken relationship can occur in various life situations such as romantic partnerships, friendships, and familial connections.

My short movie is called the “Tears of the Union.” I chose this title because of our first character, who stood strong and faithful to the relationship. She believes in their love, which brings her husband back.

In my short story, I have two characters from a village called Ikpiki. There was one woman and one man. A couple faces a difficult decision to make regarding the future of their marriage.

Ipi: The wife who prefers to see his husband stay with her in the village

Tokpo: The husband who will not hesitate to follow his work dream opportunity in the big city

In the middle of the vast African savannah, IKPIKI village is located near the ancient never-dry well of the whole desert. Golden grasses move graciously during the breeze. On a heavy sunny day, not to far away, a lone Baobab tree stands tall, its branches reaching toward the cloudless sky.

A young woman, Ipi, walks slowly across the savannah. She wears a colorful African dress and her eyes are filled with sadness.

Ipi stops beneath the shade of the Baobab tree and looks at the horizon with a heavy heart.

While searching for something dear to her on the horizon, the memory returned.

Ipi, now a younger version of herself, stands outside the small hut in IKPIKI. Her lover Tokpo, a well-built tall man with a gentle smile, approaches her.

Tokpo engages his lover
Ipi, my love. I have been selected for a position in a good company in the city. This is an opportunity for us to have a better life.

When she received the news she was sad
Ipi's eyes fill with tears as she gazes at Tokpo, and her voice trembling.

However, in Tokpo, what about us? Our dreams? Our relationship?

Tokpo takes her hands in his and suffers from the release of the first words coming from his mouth because of the pained expression on his face.

Tokpo said:
I thought I could provide for you love and give you life beyond IKPIKI. I love you, Ipi, but I must seize this opportunity.

Ipi pulls away, her heart at the moment Tokpo’s words hit her, causing a destruction similar to a nuclear bomb, tears streaming down her face.

If you leave Tokpo, there is no turning back. Our relationship has been broken forever.

Tokpo's eyes gradually fill with regret, but he remained resolute.

I promise, Ipi, that I will find a way back to you. There is a chance for our couple to be successful and stronger than ever before.

Out of the Ipi flashback to the recent event

Ipi stands beneath the Baobab tree and her face hardens with pain and longing. She holds the envelope tightly in her hands.

Ipi is whispering now
Tokpo, where are you? Why did you leave me?

Ipi reopens the envelope and pulls out a faded photograph of her and Tokpo, their smiles frozen over time. She read the message Tokpo sent a thousand times to her.

We take a turn now to Tokpo condition in two

Tokpo, dressed in a suit, walks through a bustling city street. His face was worn, and exhaustion was evident in his eyes. He stops at a busy intersection, contemplating his chosen life.

Tokpo sits alone in a small, dimly lit apartment, surrounded by empty walls. His eye falls on a letter from Ipi, and its words are filled with love and desperation.

We return to Ipi near the IKPIKI.

Ipi sinks to her knees, and the weight of her broken dreams overwhelms her. She clung to the photograph, and her tears stained the faded surface.

Ipi is sobbing now
Tokpo, you promised... You promised me to find a way back.

Suddenly, the wind blows heavily, and the dust temporarily hides a black mark on the horizon.
Ipi does not pay attention to the dust and looks up her heart pounding.

At this distance, she sees a figure emerging from the same path as dust transit. It is Tokpo, weary, but determined, making his way toward her.

Ipi's eyes widen, a glimmer of hope reigniting within her.

They run toward each other, and the distance closes rapidly until they collide in a passionate embrace.

This movie is fiction even though reality presents us with similar situations between couples. I hope you enjoy the concept. Movie writing is difficult and I would like to acknowledge and salute the immense work accomplished by professional movie script writers and all their staff.
